Guys kasi ang pronunciation ng 'humor' sa spanish is 'umor'. Hindi wordo si Selena, although she really is, pero don't get her wrong mamaya. Haha. Yun lang.

Enjoy! x

Maria Selena Ocampo

So the first week of my classes started. It's  starting off really well, thank God.

And well, I think the timing is so perfect kasi this final sem ko kinuha yung isa sa mga final higher electives ko which is European Language. Basically, it's a free choice on which HE kukunin namin. Wala, I just thought maybe I could make this last sem a bit fun for me so I tried to learn other languages.

So I chose Spanish courses because obviously Spain is my favorite European country and I kinda plan on working in Spain so better learn the language before actually trying to survive there.

And I have the cutest--ay este, nicest tutor.

"Hey, you're not paying attention," Lucian snapped.

I shook my head a bit and immediately frowned at him. "Yes, I am," I answered. Okay that sounded too defensive.

But he didn't look so convinced with the way he raised his eyebrows. "Right," he breathed. "If that's the case, ven y mira mi juego este sábado. What'd I just say?"

Pumalumbaba siya dito sa center table ng common room ng building ng dorm ko kung san niya ako tinututor ng Spanish. We're slumped here on the carpet floor habang naka-kalat ang mga flash cards at lectures ko dito sa sofa, sahig, at table.

Kinunotan ko siya ng noo. Honestly, wala ako naintindihan sa sinabi niya. 'Sabado' lang.

I pursed my lips and stared him to show that I'm actually thinking pero, duh, who could think straight while staring at him?

"I know what you said," I played smart. He nodded, unconvinced. "It's spanish."

"Oh is it?" Lucian played with me. "Tell me more about it, since you most likely are as eloquent as any spanish can be."

Ay grabe. Grabe siya mang-asar.

I smugly pouted my lips and furrowed my eyebrows. "Spanish is so hard," I mumbled.

He chuckled in, like, slo-mo, before he picked up the flash cards and began tutoring me again.

"Seis," he read one card.

Oh god, that is easy. "Six," I boastfully answered.

"Seis coses que me gustan de ti."

"What the fudge."

He made an error sound and shook his head. "Wrong answer. Try again."

"Hey that is not Spanish I--"

"Wrong," putol niya sakin. "Still not the answer."

Sinamaan ko siya ng tingin. One long lethal glare before I surrender.

"Pass," I said pero may halo talagang banta yun.

He was pretty much enjoying this, you know, trying to outsmart me. Well he is unfair because he is fluent with this, and he's using that advantage para asarin ako ng asarin.

He crossed his legs properly and faced me, placed his elbows on his knees and leaned forward to me. Ngayon para kaming magtutuos.

He then flipped the card and put it behind the stack he is holding. "Primero," he asked again.

"First," I answered.

He went to the next card and read again.

"Ojos."
