One late night, after a successful hunt on a vampire nest, Sam fell asleep on his computer. I grinned, he looked positively adorable. His hands were still on the table, and his face was slammed into the keyboard. I quickly took a picture to send to Dean, who was out on a food run.
Dean 3:49 AM: I use that computer! Don't let him get drool on it
Riley 3:40 AM: Don't worry Dean-o
No reply.
I frowned. He must be driving. I gently pulled the laptop out from Sam's head, and substituted it with a pillow from his and Dean's bed.
Yes, I made them share.
The front door quietly opened, on instinct I grabbed my dagger from the table.
"Easy, Tiger." Dean whispered with a small grin.
I put my knife back on the table, and shook my head at him. Dean put the groceries on the table, and I dug through it. I glared at Dean.
"No graham crackers?" I hissed.
He shrugged. I sighed heavily and grabbed Dean's hand. I pulled the keys out of it.
"I'm going to the store. Again" I emphasized the last word.
"Not without me, you aren't." Dean snatched the keys out of my hand and ran with them.
Dean yanked open the driver's door with a childish grin on his face. I just shook my head at him with a small smile, while I walked to the passenger's side.
"What, is tonight not a fun night?" He asked, turning the key in the ignition.
The roar of the engine starting was so familiar with me. Even though it's only been two weeks. I instantly knew where everything in the car was. The rattle in the vents, a Lego piece Sam stuck in there when he was little. Mine and Dean's initials carved on the right door in the back. Seeing these things, knowing them, but not knowing how they happened, bothered me. Every time I saw something about Dean and I, I grasped for a memory in my mind.
Nothing. Every time.
I sighed as we pulled out of the parking lot.
"It's just, we've been searching for that bastard angel, Zeke, for two weeks." I explained, drumming my fingers on the armrest. "And, so far, bull. Nothing to prove that we've done anything. And things, things I know I've done, but can't remember doing, just kills me! I'm tired of it, Dean."
He pulled over onto the side of the road. Dean grabbed my hand and looked me in the eyes.
"Listen. We may have bull on this, but we will find him. Even if it kills me, I will make sure you get those memories." He mumbled, his eyebrows creasing in an upset manner.
I nodded, taking a breath.
His eyes, were very green. Green like grass, and trees, and leaves. I can make all these connections but I can't connect them with memories! This is going to be the death of me. It will.
Dean leaned in slightly, he dropped my hand to brush some hairs straying from my high ponytail away from my eyes. Again, his hands literally shocked me. (A/N one day when someone you really like/love touches your face, arm, leg anywhere, you can literally feel sparks. It's like you've been electrocuted. Seriously.) Dean leaned in and kissed my cheek. I immediately felt flustered and panicked. Why do I suddenly want to kiss him, for a very, very long time?
He pulled away and started the car again, I couldn't even hear the engine, I was so lost in my own thoughts.
"Sorry." I heard Dean mumble. "I just- I had to."
