Nicola's P.O.V

I sat in the band room, waiting for my orchestra class to end, anxiously tapping my pencils in a catchy rhythm on my lap. I was constantly glancing between the clock and my friend Daiya across from me. We weren't playing today, so we sat randomly placed with all of the string sections jumbled.

"Nicola"

Only 5 more minutes and then I can go home and stuff my face with food.

"Nicola"

Gosh, could this clock go any slower?

"Nicolaaa"

I look up and realize I have 50 pairs of eyes staring at me, some of the violas snickering, and a stern Mrs. Taylor standing over me.

"If you like drumming so much, you should ask Mr. Bern to put you in band," Mrs. Taylor says, causing the class to chuckle. I instantly feel myself go red.

"I'm sorry Mrs. Taylor, you know I love my violin. I'm just distracted," I reply.

"I know it's the last class of the day on a Friday,  and it's Orchestra, but this is still a class. I would like your attention the entire time," She says with an eyebrow raised.

As I was about to apologize again, the bell rings- a blessing from the heavens! The class disperses and I run up to Daiya and she just shakes her head and laughs.

"Nicola, you've got to chill with the drumming in front of Mrs. Taylor, you know she hates it," she laughs.

"I know, I know. But I can't help when I've got something in my head," I replied.

"Well, Maisie is waiting for me at the car. I'll see you on Monday!" I say walking away from Daiya.

I walk out of the school towards the parking lot, and head over to Maisie's car. Her fiery red hair is distinctive in the the crowd of teenagers and overcast sky. Her white smile gets bigger as she sees me walking up to her.

"Hey Nic!" she waves excitedly, "Sam is already at Chipotle, all we have to do is pick up Christine and we can be on our way."

Samantha is my twin sister, but we don't look that much alike. I'm a couple of inches taller, tanner, with curly and light brown hair. She has the complexion of Snow White and darker brown hair, with our only similarities being green eyes and full lips. Mais and I recently dyed our hair together, so her ombré pink ends compliments her ginger hair and blue eyes. I love the color purple, so I did the same as her but with purple instead.

We were all seniors at Hamilton High School in Charlotte, NC. That leaves us with our youngest friend Christine, Maisie's little eighth grade sister. You would never guess they were sisters with Maisie being so tall and red hair, and then Chris is much shorter with curly brown hair.

We were an interesting group, but the greatest friends, and soon a world touring band

At least we hoped so.
