Our school bus was rather quiet. The DarkMoon pack have not uttered a single word the whole bus ride and as much as I hate to admit it, it worries me a little. Most importantly, Jack was not there. Had something happened to him at lunch after that one girl walked over to their table? Did she do something to him?
Why do you care? He is nothing but a stupid alpha that likes nothing more than to show off. I shake my head, realizing how right my thoughts were. He was from a pack that I was suppose to hate. And he did accuse me for the disappearance of one of his pack mates. I sigh as the bus halts to a stop in front of Dan's, Phil's and I's bus stop. Yes, most of us lived together, but most of my pack have different bus stops due to where their parents live.
I expecting the usual snarky comments that Dan, Phil and I received when we get off the bus but there was nothing. Everyone seemed lost in their own thoughts, including the trouble making Felix.
"Huh," Dan says when we got off the bus. "Is it me or was it really strange that Felix didn't make a gay joke at us?" Phil just shrugs.
"Honestly, it was quite enjoyable on the bus for once. No one made fun of us, which was a nice change for once," Phil smiles, taking Dan's hand as they walked behind me. They chattered on behind me as we walk along the path leading to the edge of our territory. The smell of the afternoon rain was the only thing I could smell. That was probably why I couldn't smell his scent.
"Mark!" Phil cries. I jerk out of my thoughts only to be knocked over by a brown and grayish figure.
"Oof!" I exclaim, landing on my back, in a puddle with two green eyes staring at me. My eyes flash red. "Get off of me!" I growl, throwing the wolf off. He let's out a yelp when he hits the ground. Both Dan and Phil growl from behind me. The wolf transforms. Jack sands before us, bruised, clothes torn, hair a mess, and he was... crying?
"M-m-mark!" He whispers, shivering from his drenched clothes. "C-can I talk to y-you for a s-s-second?" I sigh, looking back at Dan and Phil, who were watching Jack with hate.
"I'll meet you guys at the house."
"But Mark!" Dan objects and I shoot him a quick glace. Phil sighs.
"Let's go Dan," He says, tugging on his boyfriend's arm. "You heard Mark, let's go." Dan sighs and reluctantly lets Phil lead him away quickly. Once they were out of sight, I pull him into a hug and stroke his hair soothingly.
"Ssh, Jack." I mutter. "What's wrong?"
"myparentsmademe-"
"Whoa, calm down there Jack. I can't understand a word you are saying."
"My parents," he says, clinging to my shirt. "are arranging a marriage for Shelby and I." I froze and then giggled.
"Really, Jack? You're upset over getting married? That's kind of part of the whole 'alpha' thing if you haven't noticed." Jack pulls away, staring at me.
"Well, the person I happen to be getting married to is the biggest slut in the whole school." I smirk.
"Does it really matter that you're going to marry biggest slut in town? It'll just match the fact that you..." He glares at me, his blue eyes being engulfed by green.
"Don't. Please." He looks down at the ground, sniffling. "I came to you instead of just running to my pack members is I thought you would understand... and now I guess I was wrong." Before I could say anything, he spun around, shifted to wolf form, and took off. I sigh, standing there with a hand over my face.
I hope this is exactly what you wanted me to do Lady Celeste. Distance myself from him to avoid my destiny...
