Before you say anything, I know... Very "anticlimactic" of me to write this chapter. And I'm sorry. But I wanna write a cute chapter before all hell starts to break loose.
You might not know, but we are actually closer to the end of this book than you think. So please, enjoy this calm before the storm ;)

KatI had to share a room with Mark for the couple of nights. When Shannon offered us a place to stay, I didn't think that she would stick by the old customs of having two alphas in one room, both of the deputies in another room and then the rest of the pack mates in another. I should've known better.
Now I was laying on the bed while Mark lays on the floor. Neither of us were sleeping though the faint snores from the other rooms confirmed that our pack members were.
I sigh, looking at the crescent moon that was hanging high in the sky, shining a little bit of moonlight through the window.
"Mark?" I whisper, still hoping that he was up.
"Yes, Jack?" He whispers softly back from the floor.
"I can't sleep. Too much on my mind," I see a silhouette of Mark's head as he rests his chin on the side of the bed.
"Do you want to go for a walk?" He suggests.
"But what if we get lost?" I whisper, shuttering at the idea of being lost and all alone. Mark chuckles.
"We won't get lost Jackaboy," I flush slightly at the new nickname he gave me. "Trust me. This is where I grew up after all."
"Fine," I sigh, throwing the covers off of me. "Lemme throw on some clothes."
=======
"So where are we going?" I ask, stepping over a fallen log.
"You'll see," Mark replies. I sigh in annoyance. Where ever he is taking me, it better be worth all of this struggle.
Gradually the trees start to thin out, and I was awe struck by the scene that laid in front of me.
"Tadah!" Mark says as we approached a huge pond.
"Oh my God...." I said, loss of words.
The moonlight streamed through the trees and started dancing on top of the pond's rippling surface. All around us the fireflies lit up and in that moment, I felt at ease.
"Do you like it?" Mark asks, peering at my face. A smile breaks across my face as a single tear trails down my cheek.
"Like it? I love it!" I exclaim, sniffling. "It almost makes me forget that we are here to find our pack mates."
"Sssh," Mark says, rubbing his thumb over my cheek, wiping away the tear. "Please don't cry."
"I.. I can't help it! Why are you being so nice to me?" My heart pounds fast as he rests his forehead against mine.
"Because I love you Jack," Mark whispers. "I've always loved you and I can't stop loving you."
"But we're suppose to hate each other," I mutter. My hands slowly running up his chest.
"Things have changed," Mark says, his lips barely inches from my own. "We can't amend the past but we can make the future brighter for the both of us." And he kisses me.
His lips were surprisingly soft as my arms snake their way around his neck, pulling him closer, deepening the kiss. Right now, nothing mattered to me in this moment except for Mark.
We both drew away, gasping for breath. I stare longingly into his brown eyes that were slowly turning red in dominance. I felt the alpha in me surge forward a little, submissive to Mark. And only Mark.
"I love you too, Markimoo," I whisper watching his face slightly turn red at the nickname. He nibbles on my ear causing me to inhale sharply.
"You're mine," he growls in my ear possessively, causing me to shutter. "And everyone else is going to know that you're mine and no one else's." I nod happily in agreement.
And Mark was true to his word. He marked me as his. It was a beautiful moment that I never wanted it to end. But sadly, it did. And the aftermath was amazing.
I was officially Mark's mate.
It finally happened! So many people are gonna be disappointed because I didn't write a smut scene. I'm sorry for those who probably wanted smut but.. Idk. I just feel sooooo uncomfortable writing.
Also, I tried to make it as romantic as possible but I guess I failed miserably. Lol.
I tried. Maaaa BlackTieNovels hey maaaaa, are you at least proud of me?
Lol, anyways sorry if it was terrible. I tried!!!
Hugs for everyone! HUGS FOR DAAAAAAYS!
