Defeating The Enemy And Going Home

Jason's pov

I meet up with the colonel along with a few other guys. After I tell everyone what we're up against. We gather every military man we can find. The door opens and standing there is my determined best friend. "What are you doing here?" I gasp. "I'm gonna help you guys too. You need everyone! That includes me Jason!" I slap my forehead. "We've been over this Luke! You can't do this!" "I can too. I get it now. No mercy." This idiot! I grab his arm and pull him away from the group.

Luke's pov

He seems scared. "Luke please turn back, war changes a man. I don't want you to change." "I'll be fine man." I gasp, surprised. He shakes his head. "Please Luke for once in your God forsaken life listen to me! I know what I'm talking about here!" I sigh. "Fine, I'll go home. But you make me a promise here and now."

Jason's pov

I look up at him worried. "You make it home too." I sigh and glare at the ground. "Man, ya know I can't promise that." He grabs my shoulder. "Come on man, we're like yin and yang. I need you!" My eyes go wide and my face gets red. "I thought you were too out of it to remember that stuff!" He shakes his head. "I remember every word." Just then Miranda and Caroline walk in. I sigh sadly and walk over to her. "So..... I guess you're doing this?" Tears fill her eyes. I rest my hands on her cheeks and wipe them away. "I gotta baby. I'll be home before ya know it." "I'm gonna miss you." I smile and kiss her forehead. "As we take down the enemy, I'll be thinkin' of you and the baby." She smiles. "Private! Let's get a move on!" I sigh. "I gotta go." "Wait!" She gasps, grabbing my shoulder. I turn back around. She kisses me hard. "One for the road." She whispers.

Luke's pov

I try not to laugh as he looks stunned by that. "Y-Y-Yeah..... I.... I can't wait to get back. I love you baby." He goes with everyone else and we go back home. "You sure stunned him with that kiss." She laughs softly and sits on the couch.

Jason's pov

We get to their base and the leader dude is shocked to see me alive. I smile, gun in hand. "I don't give up." I growl, ready to fight. Thoughts of my wonderful wife in my head. This is for her and our son. And Luke. And even Caroline. I fire at the cloning machine. The leader gets furious and sends the other guys after us. "This is for Eddy!" I yell, remembering how they gunned down my whole platoon which included a close friend of mine named Eddy. He runs into the machine which confuses me since it's broken. Oh shit! He's trying to use it! Idiot. I make hand motions meaning someone stand guard on the other door. I keep my gun pointed at this jackass. The door opens. I shoot him down. "Ahhhhh!" I spin around. Holy shit! "Those bastards!" It's some kind of mutation! I shakily fall backward as it looms over me. "You should be dead." It growls. I fumble for my gun. "I'm very resilient." I growl, shooting it multiple times in the stomach. It explodes, getting goo all over everything. I lay back down exhausted. "You okay?" Someone asks. I nod. "Just need a breather." I mumble. Someone helps me stand up. "Let's get home soldier." I smile. Home. The best thing for me. I need my baby.
