Daniel is so protective.
He insisted on us getting a doctors appointment the next day.
Apparently I was getting my period because it was spotting and it's normal, and I had mistaken it for my period.
The doctor is really nice and she's super sweet. She's Doctor Addison. She said the baby is very healthy, that I'm doing very well, and I'm due June first.
I was ten weeks to the day when I went in.
It's Thanksgiving, and I'm exactly three months today.
We haven't told anybody, but my clothes and bras and everything were getting tight, so we went shopping.
"Let's tell them today." Daniel says.
We're driving to my parents for breakfast.
Today is a really bad day for an off day, but I knew the second I woke up and took my prenatal vitamins that I'd have a problem, because I puked the water and the pill back up, and I hate to take it again.
"We're gonna have to. I probably won't even be able to eat dinner."
He grabs my hand.
"We can tell them." He says, stopping the truck in our normal parking spot.
"Alright. Let's tell them right away." I say.
I'm starting to show anyways, and I'm wearing a tight red sweater and a pair of jeans and boots today. My hair is curled.
I love this sweater.
They're going to notice I've gained weight.
"I look like a whale." I say, getting out.
Daniel gets out.
"No you don't. You're hardly showing. You look beautiful."
He lets himself into the house.
I follow him.
"Awe, you're here!" Mama says. "Happy Thanksgiving!" she hugs us.
"Aubrey, you look different than the last time I saw you." Madeline smiles, hugging me.
I laugh, hugging her, shooting Daniel a look.
He rolls his eyes, shutting the door.
"What kind of different?" I ask.
She shrugs.
"I don't know. Just different."
I shoot Daniel another look. He laughs.
We didn't help make pies because I felt sick every single day they had planned.
I know Mama is mad.
They all hug us, greeting us.
"Guys, before we start breakfast, I gotta say something." I sit down on the arm of the couch next to Roxy.
Everyone looks at me expectantly.
I look at Daniel. He shrugs.
"Um, on June first, give or take," I start, taking a deep breath. "We're going to spend the day in the hospital."
"Why?" Mama asks.
"Because that is the day I'm going to give birth."
"You're pregnant?" Harper gasps.
"Yeah." I smile.
"Oh my god! Are you serious?" Madeline grins.
"Twelve weeks today."
