Chapter 5 – Party? Party.
The big house was crowded with drunken teenagers stumbling over their own feet and the loud music made the drinks at the tables vibrate. I wasn't surprised that Jay was friends with people who owned houses this expensive. The Sports Academy was a very expensive school and either you had the money or you had to be talented like Jay, to get accepted.
First, we made our way to the kitchen where we decided to take a few shots. I mean, it was free.
"Oh my gosh guys, this is my jam!" Amy said excited as a new song turned on. She was really drunk already and started to clap her hands 'to the beat' frantically. I wondered what they had been drinking before they picked me up. Amy wasn't one to say a lot most of the time but alcohol really made her talkative.
"You act so stupid when you're drunk Amy. Very blond." Ben stated flatly and I tried not to laugh at her.
"You are no fun Benny. C'mon guys let's dance!" She cheered and took Ben's hand who mumbled something like 'don't call me that'. I laughed at my friends and followed them to the dance floor. Well, it wasn't really a dance floor. It was more like a fucking huge living room with the leather couch pushed to the wall to get even more space, but whatever.
We danced like there was no tomorrow and I actually found myself having fun for the first time in weeks. Suddenly Jay walked into my field of vision and I stopped dead in tracks. His left eye and Jaw was still bruised but he had a light drunk smile on his lips, which calmed my sudden tension a bit. He was with his usual group of friends. I spotted just a few faces I didn't know. I also noticed Stacy O'Brian clinging to his arm again. I hated that bitch. She cheated on my brother the first time they dated and since then it was an on-off thing between them. I didn't know why he was still interested in her, or how he even could forgive her in the first place.
"Hey Kels', you okay?" Ben screamed in my ear and I flinched.
"Yeah.. I'm going to talk to Jay real quick." I screamed back and pointed over to my brother.
"He looks horrible." Ben whispered more to himself but I was a good lip reader. "He is with Stacy again?" His jaw clenched, he hated her just as much as I did. I rolled my eyes and nodded before walking over to my brother.
He and his friends sat in a corner where it was quieter, probably so they could chat better. Jay was never one to dance anyway. Laughter erupted from them. One of the people I didn't know seemed to tell a funny story or something. He had dark black hair and a beautiful smile. His hair was short at the sides and he had a quiff on the top. He was very handsome and had blazing eyes, probably new at the Academy.
"Hey Kels' come over!" My brother called me out after noticing me. Suddenly all eyes were on me and I had no other chance, than to come over under their watchful eyes. "I didn't know you would be here." He smiled at me. And I waved back at some of his friends I knew from earlier encounters who greeted me.
"You would have known, if you wouldn't have ignored me the last few days." I said suddenly a bit angry and his smile faded.
"I didn't ign-"
"You did." I cut him off. "Can we please talk somewhere more private real quick?" I looked around at his friends, who were all staring at me amused. He sighted but nodded. I noticed that everyone looked at me in a quiet mocking way. I knew I was kind of causing a scene, but I also knew that Jay would be easier to talk to with a little bit alcohol inside of him.
One person from the group suddenly caught my attention. He had blond curls and a serious facial expression. His green eyes were literally boring into me and made my breath stuck in my lungs. He was drop dead gorgeous. He wasn't smiling or laughing like the other ones. He was so... different?
