Chapter 21 – Waterproof

Nate's POV:

I was freaking mad at Kelsey for what she had done to me and I knew that I wasn't able to forgive her for what she had done. She was the first person I had true feelings for after I lost my mother when I was just 15 years old. She was like my missing piece that was the only thing that could get up my mood and make me feel good about myself. She was just like you would image an angel to be. So pure and honest. At least that's what I had thought about her.

She had betrayed me and ripped me apart as I had seen her standing in the kitchen with Aiden. I saw her laughing and taking shots with him and I had hoped that as he leaned in she would stop him, maybe having me in the back of her mind. I couldn't actually look at them when it happened. Before his lips touched hers I turned around and my way back home excusing myself by my friends that I had gone there with.

But even though she had ripped me apart on the inside by kissing Aiden I cared for her deeply and I wanted her to be okay. I had a plan on how to help her and decided that it was best to check up on the information that I had asked for. I took my phone out and dealt the number that was supposed to bring me further in my plans.

"Nate. I have been expecting your call." My uncle said with a friendly yet worried voice.

"I'm sorry. I had to take care of some things." I said trying not to sound too worked up. "I hope you got what I asked for." I said walking up to my room not wanting to worry Brenda who had been eyeing me up and down since I came back from the meeting with Kelsey earlier. She always knew when something was going on.

"I do and I have to say. Boy, stay as far away from this guy as possible." He said in a worrying way. I had him check Marcus and especially his background ever since Kelsey had told me about her assumption that he was selling drugs.

"So you found something?" I asked hopeful that there was actually something I could remove him from Kelsey's life with.

"It was hard but with the right connections it was possible." He said before paper shuffling was heard. "This guy faked everything there is to fake. Starting with his ID when he was around 15. He bought alcohol with his friends, got wasted and destroyed a famous monument. He was also arrested for violence quite a few times in his teen years but they always ha to let him go." He said turning another page. "The real deal started when he went to high school since he actually started a bigger drug dealership with his brother then. He also tried to be a pharmacist to get to more pills after failing to graduate high school but he failed that as well so he faked documents that allowed him to work as a Therpist." Uncle James said and I started to smile. All of this information could lead to him getting looked up even though a lot of these things probably happened so long ago, that he wouldn't get charged for it anymore. But the lie that he was a therapist actually was still going on.

"And now he still deals with drugs?" I asked still in disbelieve while feeling happy about the new information.

"Yes. This guy actually seemed to be a big fish in and around the town you life in." He said now getting worried again. "Nathaniel. Now tell me, what do you need this for?" he asked. I didn't know if I should tell him the truth but he helped me more than anyone else and I believed it was only fair to tell him the truth.

"His step-daughter is... A good friend of mine and she and her brother and mom suffer under his violent behavior." I said honestly. " I just want to help them since I can't stand seeing Kelsey, I mean the family, suffer under his violent rule." I said hoping that James would understand where I was coming from.
