15 Honestly

Chapter Fifteen- Honestly

~Heart's POV~

I raised my eyebrow to Vaughn's statement. 'You're a very generous man.' Calmly staring at him. 'So, how many girl friends did you usually bring on this kind of place?'

His lips twitched. 'Can I be honest?' he asked twisting his chalice with his right hand--looking serious.

'Yes.' I said disheartened knowing his answer. Pretty sure girls or women can't say NO to this man. I turned my gaze down to my plate.

'None...until this day.' he said plainly. I felt his eyes focused on me. I met his stare.

Little smile formed at the corner of my lips. 'You're kidding.' I stated in disbelief planting my elbows on the table and resting my chin on the back of my intertwined hands.

'I'm not.' he said in a sexy voice raising his eyebrow and mimicking my gesture which also made him leaning forward towards my face. We hold our gazes for seconds though I can no longer contain the electricity flowing inside me. Thankfully the waiter interrupted us and served the main dish. Thank you Lord, you saved me.

We talked about various topics that we can think of. From mere movies to politics to literature to music to sports. I really admire his visions and values as a person. Man, he's deep. The more I know him, the more secured I am towards his company. And did I mention he's rich? But that's not the important thing.

'Dessert?' Vaughn asked snapping me out of my thoughts.

'S-sure.' I replied shyly.

'What do you want?' he asked browsing the menu. 'Let me guess...'

'Cheesecake.' we said in chorus. What are the odds.

~Vaughn's POV~

Heart is a wonderful person. I can see her totality. Her late parents must be proud of her hard-working nature and being a responsible individual. She has a younger brother who is a graduating student staying with her relatives. She's working at the big city to support both of them.

Before getting lost with my thoughts, I asked her about the last course. I'm amazed that we have the same preference.

'So, you can read minds now huh?' she said shyly teasing me.

'You can say that.' I replied jokingly and smiling naturally. Her shy nature is pleasing to my sight.

After having our dessert, I waved at the waiter and told him to serve wine.

'What for?' Heart looking puzzled.

'Well, let's just say I closed a big deal.' I winked at her lifting up my glass for a toast.

'To Vaughn and his big deal.' she exclaimed grinning and consumed her glass.

'You got the charms.' she said randomly. Same as my reaction, she looked so surprised. Though with her, a red shade starts to appear on her cheeks.

~Heart's POV~

Crap! What did I just say?! This ain't happening. I've counted one-to-three mentally and found an excuse to cover up my foolishness.

'I..mean. You..have...the...charms...when it comes on closing deals.' I said slowly looking at him.

'Thank you Heart. It meant a lot.' he said wholeheartedly. With him remarking my words, created a soft touch to my heart.

We opted to call it a night after having the last course and he accompanied me again to my apartment.

As we descend from his car, he stopped me. 'Wait.' he said. He pulled something on the back seat. A bouquet of red roses. He handed me those lovely buds and my heart sunk. I gave him an appreciative look. 'Thank you Vaughn.'

He pinched my cheek and met my eyes. I was hypnotised by that contact and before anything wild happened, he guided me towards my door. Supposedly.

We didn't reach the front door because of a man standing on the entrance. I squinted at the dark silhouette which slowly marched towards us. I covered my mouth with my hands as I looked at the man.

'Jackson.' I gasped.
