The rain had eased back to a small drizzle. But after rushing through the thick rapid rain before hand, Alex was soaked through. Completely drenched head to toe, cold and shaking but he did not slow although he was exhausted legs slightly wobbling with each step, body shuddering with cold numbing shakes.
The vibrations rattled his bones, he was much more sober now but his head still fuzzy.Suddenly his quick pace was brought to an unpleasant halt, as he trips and falls into a puddle and if that wasn't bad enough he couldn't find the strength to get back up.
Laying in the middle of the pitch black street in a puddle, he gazed over to the street sign. Alex was only a block from Delilah's house the thought of her brought the vivid image of her to mind.
A dazzling white smile that completely contradicted her long jet black silky hair, Alex loves to comb his fingers through it twist it his fingers making little curls and such as he looked into her big deep drown eyes full of emotion they seemed to seep passion and love when they were together. Alex loved it when she would laugh, her nose would crinkle and she would shriek so loudly unable to contain her joy. He loved how she had freckles so cute on her back Alex would ofter lift the back of her top up and pretend to play connect the dots of course he was intending to tickle her too and the smallest of ones on her nose youd only notice if you were close enough to kiss.
Ah and her soft lips, a soft pale pink. So plump and delicious often tasted like sugar due to the clear lip bam she wears.
The small things like how peaceful and delicate she appears when she accidentally falls asleep on him.
The underrated things like how big her heart is and how courageous, resilient she is never giving up, stands up for herself and for anyone she feels gets treated unfairly. The un noticed things like how she sings and dances a production when she thinks no one is in the house, how she is a bundle of warmth and joy when she blasts her favourite songs. Alex never cared for the type of music but when he sees the glow in her eyes and hears the pure giddiness in her voices the fact that he is the only one who gets to see her so wild and free he would listen to those songs on repeat till the day he dies.
A couple of cars went by, rain drops dripped onto Alexs head running down is face. Except the occasional car and wind through the trees everything was calm and quiet until a roar of an engine appeared.
A bus was fast approaching, Alex gazed up just as the bus drove right past his head that was laying next to the curb. As the bus went past it splashed a huge muddy puddle and it waved over him, Alex knew even if he attempted to get up or roll to the side it would be ineffective. So he shut his eyes and mouth tight till the murky water settled.
Few passengers got off the practically deserted bus. They walked by him, over him without even a second glance.Out of nowhere a bright light was shon in his face and a soft slightly worried voice asked.
"hello? Are you okay?"
Alex brought one of his hands up to block the light from his eyes and propped himself up on his other arm.
"Delilah?"
He asked in longing. She gasped in shock as she whimpered.
"Alex?!"
Alex nodded his head, he couldn't see her face for being blinded by the phone light. Even if he could see her gorgeous face he wouldn't dare look in her eyes, if he looked into those compassionate, glistening hazel eyes in his state of mind he would break down. He would crumble like a soft cookie. At this moment in time he would be resolved to nothing more than a guilt ridden, selfish, pitiful mess and mass of tears with intense weeping.
"Oh my god! Holy fuck, look at you an- where are your shoes?!"
Delilah was in complete horror and worry.Alex attempted to lick his lips but his mouth was dry, throat parched he managed to get out the words.
