After making arrangements to get Alex home safely, Becker walked her to his Suzuki GSX motorcycle. "So, where do you live actually?" he asked. He had an extra helmet and he handed it to her.

"Boulder," she replied. "It's about 30 minutes north from here."

"Oh yeah! I know where you're talking about!" he said. "Hop on and hold onto me." He got on the bike and asked her to hold his backpack. Sitting on the bike, he felt her arms wrap around his torso. He felt his heart flutter slightly and he started up his bike.

Leaving the parking lot and headed towards route 36, Becker felt his mind swirling with thoughts. What would Julie think? Was this wrong of him? To befriend another woman and hope he wouldn't die if his girlfriend ever found out?

To possibly fall for this friend and escape?

Escape forever from the abuse?

He kept himself focused on the road without overwhelming his brain about the what if's of this possible relationship, let alone friendship. Feeling the wind rush into his face, he watched the road ahead of him.

Isabella directed him towards her apartment. He pulled into the parking lot and he turned off his bike. He got off and she got off as well, handing him her helmet.

"Well, thank you, Becker!" she chimed. "That was a fun ride home! Maybe I'll see you around sometime?" She took out a pen and an old receipt, jotting down her number. "Text me sometime!"

Becker smiled and nodded. "Yes ma'am," he said. "It was nice to meet you! Goodnight, Isabella!"

Isabella grinned. "Night, Becker!" She winked playfully and then went into her apartment.

Becker couldn't help but feel happy for once. He felt light and for once, felt like he could conquer anything in the world. He got back on his bike and made sure everything was intact and where things needed to be. He then started up the bike and drove home.
