A few weeks passed and Becker was out of the hospital. Having sat down at the kitchen table to do some work, he was writing in his journal.
He was writing a code for his friends to see and crack if something were to ever happen to him. He was thankful Julie wasn't around at the moment.
Hearing a door slam shut, Becker quickly put his journal away and got up. "Hello, Julie," he said with a smile. He ran a hand through his hair and he looked at her. "You okay, love?" Maybe now was a good chance to try to get out.
"I'm fine, Becker. Just please shut your piehole," Julie huffed.
"Rough day?" He asked. Julie set her stuff down and just looked at him. "Don't you ever shut up?" She asked.
Becker raised an eyebrow and he crossed his arms. "Sorry I asked then," he said.
"No. Becker. You don't bloody understand! I. Need. You. To. Shut. Up!"
Looking her in the eye, he nodded. He still had his journal hidden in his backpack. He looked over at his backpack, and then grabbed his coat. He put his coat and backpack on. He then grabbed his motorcycle helmet and left out the front door. He knew he had to cool off before he blowing up at her.
Becker walked out into the cool, starry night, and went up to a black, sleek, racing bike. He sat down on it, put his helmet on, and took out his keys. He started the bike and revved it a couple times.
Julie heard the bike and her hands balled into fists. She would have darted out to try to stop him, but was too tired.
Driving deep into the heart of Denver, he looked up at the towering sky scrapers and abundant night life whenever he came upon a stop light.
Coming upon another stop light, he watched people party at a nearby concert. Smiling, he saw the light then turn green. He found a nearby parking lot and parked his motorcycle. He paid for his spot and then put his helmet in his backpack.
Walking towards the small, open venue, his phone buzzed like crazy. He checked it and saw it was either his best friend Alex or Julie. He unlocked his smartphone and decided to text Alex.
"Hey! Sorry I just now got the chance to look at these! I was driving!" Becker texted.
"It's all good, man! You finally got a chance to get away from that snake yet?"
"If you mean Julie, then yes. She would've snapped on me today if I hadn't left."
"I bet! She's so cruel to you, man. You need to break up with her."
"I know."
"Where are you now?"
"Some concert on Larimer street. At Larimer Lounge."
"Cool! Wait there! I want you to meet a friend of mine!"
Becker didn't reply and he went into the venue. It was quite small. Going up to the bar, he ordered a water. He wasn't in the mood for feeling numb tonight.
Alex came into the venue with a young lady, who looked about the same age as Julie. "Becker!" Alex called. "Hey! Over here!"
Becker looked over at his best friend and smiled. He went over to him. "Eyy, Alex," he said smiling. He hugged Alex once and then looked at the woman next to his side. "Hello," he said to her.
"Hi! I'm Isabella," the young lady replied. "It's nice to finally meet you!"
"Becker," he replied smiling.
"So, are you two cool if I leave you all alone to chat? I'm in my element here. This concert is pretty rad," Alex said after they introduced.
"Yeah! Sure!" Isabella replied. She smiled and kissed his cheek in a friendly way and then looked at Becker.
Becker smiled and watched Alex go to party.
"So, Becker!" Isabella said smiling. "How old are you?"
"24," he replied.
"Nice! I'm 22!" She chimed.
Becker smirked. He felt a click with her almost instantly, but couldn't describe it. He talked with her for hours, but it felt like mere minutes. When he looked at his phone, it was now 3am. He knew he'd be in big trouble when he got home if Julie already wasn't out looking for him.
"Is something wrong?" Isabella asked.
"Um...no," he replied. "I can still talk. W-would you wanna talk outside? It's pretty loud in here and it sucks to talk over the music."
Isabella grinned and nodded. She gently took his hand and took him outside. She let go of his hand when she sat down at a small table. Becker sat across from her.
"I can't believe we have so much in common!" He said smiling.
"I can't either!" She giggled. "Oh goodness! I can't believe Alex is still in there."
"I can. He's a hard partier when he gets the chance."
Isabella smiled. "Well, I better get him out of there. It's very late and I need him to drive me-"
"I can take you home if you want," he suddenly blurted.
Isabella looked at him and giggled again. "Are you sure?" She asked. "I wouldn't want to intrude..."
"Please," he said. "I'd love to. And I'll make sure Alex gets home safely. We have a few mutual friends that can get him home if he got drunk."
She looked him in the eye and nodded. "Okay," she said.
