A month passed and Becker felt like he was finally safe. Julie was in the ICU at the hospital according to Oliver. Oliver predicted she had a 25% chance of surviving this. Becker was comforted by that notion but still felt like something was up even though he also felt safe.
Isabella went on her morning jog. Having her earbuds in, she jogged to the beat. In the trees, a sniper hired by Julie was given orders to tranquilize Isabella. The sniper waited patiently in a tree, analyzing the situation.
Aim.
Fire.
Feeling a small pinprick in her neck, Isabella slowed and felt the spot on her neck. The tranquilizer was quite advanced, almost futuristic, and wasn't attached to anything that could be pulled from the targeted area. Minutes later, Isabella was passed out in the middle of the trail. The sniper came down and took Isabella away. To where? Only the sniper knew.
Becker had noticed that throughout the day, Isabella hadn't texted him. She texted him at least twice during work and often chatted during his lunch break. He sensed something was off when she didn't contact him whatsoever. Later that evening when he got home, he saw she wasn't home either.
Buzz.
Becker checked his phone. A text from Isabella.
"Come to the abandoned hospital on the corner of E. 9th street and Colorado Blvd at 8pm if you want to see me."
Becker raised an eyebrow and knew that was the abandoned hospital that used to be a part of the local college. He made dinner for himself and then prepared to fight. He had his leather jacket and he hid weapons of all sorts within the pockets.
He got in his car and then drove to the abandoned hospital. He looked around and saw Isabella. "Oh, Bella. You're safe!" he said. He went over to her and held her face in his hands. Her cheeks were stained with tears and she looked down.
"Becker," she whispered. "Becker, I can't move. If I move, I'll get shot."
Becker looked her in the eye and then looked around the hospital, looking for the sniper. "I'm determined to get you out of here, okay?" he whispered. He hugged her and then kissed her forehead. "You'll be okay."
Isabella looked him in the eye in return and nodded slightly. She sniffled and took a deep breath, trying to stay strong for him.
Becker smiled slightly and then backed away from her, looking for the sniper. He texted his guys to come as backup. He told Alex and Oliver and Ryder that the sniper was in the hospital with him. He needed a diversion to get Isabella out.
(A/N: I apologize that this chapter is super short. I've become busy with school stuff recently and I'm trying to find time to write! Updates on this story may become shorter as time goes on deeper into the semester. Just a warning.)
