We sneak behind a fallen desk while Joel looks for a way around "Alright, this'll be easy, all we need to do is just sneak by" Joel says, I nod and follow closely behind him "Stick close to me" he whispers to me "Okay" I whisper back. Joel chokes a runner to death then sets him down quietly "Alright c'mon" Joel motions to me, we walk to the entrance of the subway station, we stop when we see a pack of Clickers close to the exit. Joel throws a brick the other way to get the clickers away from us. Once they walk away Joel gets into the sitting position and waves Tess over "Hurry" he whispers, he cups his hands as Tess walks over to him. She pushes off of him and grabs the ladder and pulls it down. She hurriedly climbs up it and I go after, and then Joel, we jump off the landing and land on the ground outside "Holy shit" I breathe in the fresh air "we actually made it" Joel pats Tess' shoulder "Everyone okay?" He asks then I nod "Yes, let's move" she says and starts to jog towards the Capitol building again.

"You guys are pretty good at this stuff" I say slightly out of breath, "It's called luck, and it is gonna run out" Joel says in a stern voice. He breathes in heavily then jogs forward, well damn. "Where we goin' Tess?" he asks her, "Uh, the Capitol building's this way" she points over to it, "Can we get over the truck?" I ask "Only if we find something" Tess says and starts to look around "I'll go over here, Ellie stay with Joel" Tess instructs. He scoffs then walks into a building through the hole in the side of the building. All of the sudden I hear a bunch of runners scream then footsteps running towards us. Joel pulls out his gun as he yells "Ellie, stay back!". I run behind him as he shoots two of them, I'm about to ask where the third one is when I feel myself being knocked to the ground. I groan as my head hits the pavement hard "Get off me mother fucker!" I yell and try to push the Runner off of me, I hear another gunshot then the Runner slumps and falls on top of me "Oh gross" I groan as I wipe off his blood that got on my clothes, Joel helps me up "Kid, you alright?" He asks me, I brush off the dirt from my jeans and give him a stern look "I'm fine, and I'm not a kid" I say then go over to the desk and push it over to the truck, he obviously could have done this but I'm doing it to prove that I'm capable of doing anything.

"Oh sorry" Joel chuckles. I shove it against the truck forcefully then climb on top "Hey hold up, wait for me" Joel says then climbs up after me, Joel jumps down before me then jogs over to another garage door. He pulls the chains and starts to lift the door but Tess stops him "Shh-shh" she whispers "What? I don't hear anything" Joel whispers back. "Okay. Double time" Tess says, I look behind me and see some Runners climbing over the truck "They're coming" I say loudly as walk closer to Joel. "I know" he says frustrated. "Okay, that's good, Ellie go!" Tess yells, I quickly duck under and help Tess hold the door open for Joel. A Runner grabs his foot while he's crawling under "Drop it!" He yells after he's all the way through so Tess and I both let go of the door, he stands up as we hear loud banging on the door. We all walk backwards, after the banging subsides I look down at Joel's foot "Oh.. You got something on your shoe" I say "What?" Joel asks as he looks at me then looks down, he jumps back then quickly shakes it off "Ew" he mutters.

Joel walks over to a workbench in the corner of the room and starts to upgrade and clean his guns while Tess and I sit down and talk. "So Marlene thinks you're immune?" She asks "That's what she believes" I answer honestly while nodding. "Well, how were you bitten? You must've been somewhere you shouldn't have to find infected in the zone" I nod and look down "Yeah.. I'd sneak out, I was in this military boarding school" "You'd sneak out?" She asks astonished "Yeah, you know, to explore the city" I look down at my arm and run a finger over the bite mark "I was in the mall when I was bitten"I admit, Tess' eyes go wide "That place is completely off limits, how the hell did you get in there?" "I... had my ways. Anyways, one of those - what you guys call Runners, bit me, and that was that" I nod and look down, there's more to the story but they don't need to know that. "I see" Tess says. Joel finishes and walks over to us, "Were you with Marlene when you were bitten?" Joel asks "No, I went to her for help afterwards" Joel laughs "Knowing her, I'm surprised she didn't shoot you" I laugh lightly and run the back of my neck "She almost did" I swallow the lump in my throat "I hope she's alright" I say softly.
