A/N What's up guys!!?? I have missed writing this book sooooooo much, it has been my favorite so far. So I thought that since it's Christmas and I'm feeling so very festive I should make a Christmas special, I hope y'all have enjoyed this book so far: Have a very Merry Christmas! :)
I look out the window anticipating Joel's arrival, I hung up a bunch of Christmas decorations that Maria helped me find. I spent all day setting it up while Joel was working with Tommy at the dam complex. I see Joel walk up to the front door then open it, I walk up to him with a huge smile on my face while he looks majorly pissed off. "Oh, hey, what's wrong?" I ask, my smile fell from my face. "Long day at work" is all he says, he gruffs then walks past me "Well that sucks, but... I got a surprise for you!" I smile, I'm so excited for him to see all of my hard work, it took me forever. Joel sighs then puts up his coat "I don't really want to be bothered right now, Ellie" he snaps, I stop in my tracks and look at him in surprise "Bothered?" I ask him in a quiet toned, he sighs again then turns around "Like how you are right now, I've been working all day and I don't want to deal with you" Joel basically yells. I take a step back and tears start to pool in my eyes, I expect him to realize what he said was wrong, or that he'll at least apologize. But no, that wasn't the case. I wipe off my tears then give him the coldest look I can, I stomp into our living room and tear down the sign that says "Merry Christmas Joel!" I drag it back into the hallway where Joel is still standing looking pissed off, I hold it out to him and shake it with anger "Sorry that I 'bothered' enough to decorate our home to make you happy, Merry fucking Christmas, Joel" I'm seething with anger at this point, I throw the sign onto the ground then turn around and walk straight out of the house. I hear him yelling behind me, but I slam the door behind me. I don't even know where I'm walking to but I just continue on going, I walk towards Maria's house, she's really my only friend here. I knock on the door twice and wait for her to respond, she opens the door and looks at me surprised "Hi, Ellie. I thought you were going to be with Joel?" she asks. I shuffle my feet and look away from her "We got into a fight" I trail off, "Oh gosh, Ellie" she frowns then pulls me into her house "What happened?" she asks "I don't know, he came home mad and told me I bothered him, so then I left" I explain to her. I sigh then shake my head "Basically, can I stay here for a few days?" I ask. "Sure, however long you need" she smiles at me, I smile back. As she walks away I turn around and look out the window, I see Joel walking back into our house and shutting the door.
A few days after, it's Christmas Day, and I'm spending it by myself. I miss Joel, but not enough for me to go back and forgive him, not for what he did, not this time. I wake up to Maria shaking me, I jolt awake and look at her confused "Maria?" I ask, "Good you're awake, put on some clothes and come with me" I hesitate but then stand up and follow her. She hands me one of her nice shirts and some non dirty jeans, I put them on while she waited out in her living room. I walk out into the hallway with a purple lacy top and a dark pair of jeans, Maria smiles at me "You look beautiful Ellie" I smile back as I follow her out of the house. She takes me to the "convention center", the convention center basically was just where we held all of our events. She holds her hands in front of my eyes before we enter the building, "What are you doing?" I ask "Just hold all of your questions and hush" she stifles a laugh. I try to suppress my smile but I can't, Maria opens the door as I close my eyes as tight as I can. Maria leads me inside then stops me in the middle of the room, "Okay, wait here and don't open your eyes until I tell you" I nod and wait as I hear her walk back towards the door. "Okay open your eyes" I hear her then she closes the door behind her. I open my eyes and see Joel standing in front of me wearing one of his nicest button up shirts and clean jeans. He's standing in front of me with all of the Christmas decorations I made behind him, he smiles at me with a wide smile. I choke back on tears as I run up to him and wrap my arms around him "I'm so sorry baby girl, I don't have a stupid excuse for you, I just want to make it up to you" he whispers in my ear. I smile through my happy tears, he pulls away from me then points up with a sly grin. I look up and see a sort of plant, it has green leafs and red berries. "What's that?" I ask, "It's a mistletoe, it's a tradition that whoever's standing under it they have to kiss" Joel explains, I grin wider "Well, in that case" I put my hand behind his neck and pull his lips down to mine, he wraps his arms around my waist and presses his chest against mine. In this moment I knew that Joel and I would have a lot of Christmas' after this, we were made to stay together, I love Joel with all of my heart. Merry Christmas everybody.
