'Emily's POV-.

Bootcamp was the first time I saw him. As I looked around nervously, I noticed the boys category stood next to where the last of my category was- just only me and another girl. We were both sat on sound box boxes, waiting nervously and watching from the TV's they had set up. The girl - who I had learned was Hannah - got up and was ascorted over to the stage.

I was just looking around, when I caught eyes with one of the boys. He smiled at me, and I smiled quickly back. We broke eye contact quickly, and I started to pick at the loose threat at the end of my top. He didn't look too old, around 16 - my age. He had dark blonde/brown hair, and was just wearing jeans and a top.

Hannah had just finished, and was taking one of seats. I was pretty excited, but nervous at the same time. I was the last girl to perform, and I knew there was a LOT of pressure. I knew that my nerves couldn't get the best of me this time. I had planned the perfect song to sing. It was one of my personal recent favourites.

"The judges are ready for you." I got up from the box I was sat on, brushed off my leggings and followed the lady.

"GOOD LUCK!" I turned around to see the boy I had made eye contact with not long along, giving me a thumbs up. It sounded like he had a scottish accent. It was cute. The rest of the boys in his category started cheering and agreeing, them all taking a seat in the box's infront of the TV, I'm guessing to watch me perform.

I met Dermot at the side of the stage, him talking to me for a brief second, before him wishing me good luck and telling me I could go on stage. I took a deep breathe in, then exhaling it. Climbing the small stairs, I walked across the stage, and the audience started to clap. Relax, you can do this. I told myself.

"Hi Emily, hunny." Nicole said. She was my category mentor. Me and the rest of the category was so pleased when we found out she was going to be mentoring us.

"Hi" I politly replied, taking the mic of the stand to hold it in my hands.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm good thanks, a bit nervous." The judges smiled back at me.

"Whenever you're ready." I took a deep breathe. I looked into the audience, who I couldn't see very well because of the lighting. The music starting playing, and I started singing. I could see the judges nodding their head to the music, but I felt like I wasn't doing enough. I'd practised the high note in the song in rehearsel, but was scared to pull it off. I decided to give it a chance.

The part in the song was coming up. I took a quick breathe between lines, opening my mouth, slightly bending my legs and back, and the high and long note escaped my mouth. The audience cheered, and as the song ended I could feel tears building in my eyes. Did I really just pull that off?
