'Emily's POV-.
Week Three. Can you believe it? Already three shows in, and yet so much had happened. News had spread about me and Nicholas, as if we were getting married or something. Had they never heard of a tiny crush before? It was distracting, and deffinately discomforting for both of us. Nicole had told me to ignore the tabloids, ignore the fans, and just focus on my love for singing and performing.
This week I was going to be wearing something different. It was black, shiny leggings - almost looking leather like. I had a beautiful thin strapped Devoree cami top, topped off with heels. My hair was in a pony tail, but the top part of my hair which was covering my head was sort of puffed up. A lot of work had gone into my make-up too, my eyes been given the "smokey eyed" look. My eyeliner and mascara was thick too. I had to admit, I looked hot. I almost didn't recoginse myself. The normal me, was normally with minimal make up, messy hair and comfortable clothes.
The song I was singing was Safe & Sound from The Hunger Games. It was one of my favourite films of all time. I had to admit, I thought the song was a risk at first, but Nicole assured me. We had worked together to make it different.
I walked out of the dressing room, and slowly made my way down the hallway. My foot still had its "cast" on it, but I was still able to wear heels. It was only a bit of cloth around my foot, no one would be looking at my feet anyway.
"Whoop-woo" I heard a wolf wistle, and I looked up from my phone to see the Kingland Road boys aproaching me from the other end of the hallway. "What are you trying to do, put Nicky into cardiac arrest?" I ignored them, pushing slightly past. The show was starting soon, and we had to have everyone in the backstage area when it started. This is where family and friends would stay, and also crew members with last minute makeup or clothing would be to help.
My Mum or Dad didn't come this week, as my Dad was still majorly ill. He had the flu, and my mum didn't feel right leaving him. Although, my two older brothers, Will and Matt managed to come. Will was 23, and Matt was 19. We're quite close as siblings. Always were. I guess we're one of the luckier families; it's probably because they were so busy sticking up for me all the time they didn't have time to make fun of me myself.
"Willy, Matthew!" I shouted, walking over to them and giving them a big hug each.
"Shut up" They both said. I laughed, talking and chatting to them about what's going on at home. Apparently our whole neighbor hood was behind me, posters and signs up everywhere.
"How's Becky?" I asked Will. He was her girlfriend, they'd been dating for nearly 4 years. They had met at University, Will doing Engineering and Becky doing English.
"She's good. She has an interview for a teaching job in a couple days. She's really nervous." I nodded, taking a sip of my bottle. Matt nudged him.
"And tell her what else is planned involving Becky." Will shook his head, a goofy like grin on his face. I looked confused at Matt, which he just laughed at.
"C'mon, tell me. Pleaseeeeeeee." I pouted, giving my best puppy dog look.
"Fine. Well- I decided that urr- I'm going to propose to Becky." He said nervously. Will looked down at his feet, fiddling with his thumbs. I was honestly so happy, I'd been waiting for this for ages. I loved Becky, I honestly did. She was such a sweet girl, one that all the family fell in love with when we met her. She was nice, kind, understanding and easy to talk to. She was intelligant, but not too intelligant. I hugged Will, jumping up and down with excitement.
"I'm so happy, I'm going to cry oh my god." I said, fanning myself with my hands. We all laughed. I looked between the gap inbetween the boys. Nicky was stood with Luke and Sam. He was looking at me up and down, almost checking me out. He caught me looking, and he turned bright red with embarrasement. I wouldn't blame him.
"Emily, it's time for you to perform." I nodded, giving my brothers a quick hug before going furthur backstage. I did my last minute before show routine, taking deep breaths and clearing my mind. Nicole introduced me, and as they played my video tape I positioned myself on stage. Nicole gave me a thumbs up. My name was read out once more, and the music started automatically playing.
The performance itself went great. I had so much fun interacting with the crowd during my performance it was incredible. Although some feedback wasn't the best I had gotten so far.
"I feel like you were a bit too far out of your comfort zone this week. The vocals them self were great but next week I'd like to see a bit more you in your performance." I nodded, taking Gary's comment in.
"Darling you look fabulous! Trying to impress a little scottish boy perhaps?" Sharon teased. My cheeks flushed. I couldn't help but contain my laughter. I made my way off stage, waving to a couple fans in the front row. Nicky was sat there back stage, i'm guess waiting to perform. His knee was shaking and he was biting his nails. I guess he was nervous.
"You'll do great, ok?" I reassured him. He looked up at me, smiling.
"Thanks, you were amazing." I thanked him, giving him a quick hug before he went on stage. I took a few steps to leave, when he called my name.
"Emily?" I turned around.
"Hm?"
"You look really nice." He winked, then disappearing off with a cheeky grin on his face.
