January 16th - Cameron

'Mum!' I run downstairs.

'There's something I have to tell you!...' I pause before the end, seeing my mum with her arms crossed leaning against a table.

I walk towards her slowly, seeing her frustration in her face.

She nods. 'And I have something to tell you, Cameron.'

Sighing I move around her. Worried if she already knew about the competition.

'How long have you known about the competition Cameron??' She asks.

Surprised, i answered her.
'Since last week, ever since the live.ly'!' I stammered. 'I was hoping to tell you now.'

'And you couldn't have done it earlier Cameron?'

I lower my head in shame. 'I'm sorry, I forgot.'

Apparently my mum is a no mercy woman. Ever since family problems, she's been hard core ever since.

'Your expected to be in Australia Cameron by today!'

'Do you think it's possible to pack for that without being aware of something hugely important?!'

I shake my head and reply a no.

My mum gives a light smile. 'Well today is your lucky day.'

She points over to a suitcase. 'That's yours, your now going to the airport and I'm dropping you off.'

I open my mouth speechless. 'Thank you!!' I run over to her and give her a huge hug.

'Whoa big boy' she laughs as she rubs my back. 'In not going with you though.'

I end the hug, looking at her confused. 'But that's against the rules!'

'And that's what you get for not telling me sooner!' She slaps my arm playfully.
'Now get in the car.'
