Chapter 33:

Zach's POV:

'Ariel?'

'Here!'

'And Johnny?'

'Here'

Johnny raises his hand as I call out his name. Just as I do so, Loren comes rushing into the room, her face is pale from running. She pants as she walks tiredly towards Ariel.
I look around the circle they've made. Surprised, I never knew she was even absent. Oh well.

Putting the clipboard away, I turn to Vinz.
'Take them backstage to get their gear ready.' I order him in a small tone.

Vinz nods and I lightly push him towards the backstage stairs.
'Everyone follow me! We need to get your microphones and such.'
With that, All the kids follow him into the backstage area until their called, leaving me alone in the echoing silence of the performance area.

I sigh a heavy sigh, looking towards the stage from a distance lower balcony view.
'All clear Captain.' I say into my walkie talkie.
Not even putting my hands on the rails in front of me, I overhear the Cheers coming near behind me,coming from the walk path through to this area.
I turn to see a couple make their way into the seat section.
What if they see me? What if they take a turn on me? After all, good vibes don't exactly run in my family...
Freezing still, I stare until they notice me from down below. They both do something I've never expected from a guest...

They smile.
I smile back, remembering what it was once like to be a normal teen. More people come through, until these two strangely familiar faces skip past and up into the seats behind me. The smaller one behind the taller, with their hoods up as if up to no good. One of them Challenges me with eye contact which makes me uncomfortable.
Turning around, I head towards Backstage, having the gut feel of their eyes peering on my back.

30 minutes later...
'Welcome everyone! To the night we have all been waiting for!' The announcer, Xanthe Monroe booms into the speaker.

The audience is black with people. A light shines on the stage where Xanthe stands. This was live, in Melbourne, for around the world to see, and for first hand experience.

Backstage, things, However aren't so as professional. Loren is weeping. Ariel trying to comfort her, but scowling at her for 'running off.' Annie is shaking and stretching. Mackenzie and Johnny are fine. Mads and Cameron are nervous for this big step towards fame. Jacob, Zach, Lisa and Lena are all sitting down waiting for the time.

Zach arrived a few minutes ago to give a prep talk and advice about the questions they may ask. All over the Media, Xanthe is widely known, so none of these musers dare to get a foot wrong.

Vinz Makes a gesture for 'get up' and they raise and get into an line.

'Good luck!' They all whisper to one another behind and in front.

Peering from behind Zack Notes the last sentences of her speech before Xanthe turns to them and widens her hands.

'And now, I introduce you to the Next Big Things 2K16!'

Mackenzie leads the way on stage, smiling and waving taking her seat on the very end. Followed by Johnny, who the audience gives a big woohoo to too. It continues until Leli make their appearance, and the crowd goes even more bananas.

Of course it's hectic, there is officially 2M people here.

'So guys how are you all?' Xanthe asks.

They all replied to 'good' 'great' and a 'terrified' from Annie, which gets a chuckle from the audience.

'Well today is a very exciting day indeed.' Xanthe says.

'Let's get to it everyone as the show has just begun!'
