"What day does court start?" Nick asked me while I was driving. It had been a month since Nick woke up from his coma. Stu had been charged with attempted murder, and is now going to court. I haven't seen him since the day I interrogated him.

"Judy? Judy? Earth to Judy!" Nick said. I must've stared into space at the light.

"Oh what? Oh, sorry. Court starts next week. If Stu is proven guilty, he will serve 10 years jail time." I replied.

"Oh. How are you doing? You know, with all of this?" He asked nervously.

"I don't know, to be honest. Part of my heart wants me to forgive my father, but I know what he did. And that enough is unforgivable." I replied.

"I'm sorry Judy. I don't know how you feel. No one should have to go through that. I'm here for you Judith." He said. He rarely ever calls me Judith. The only time he does is on serious situations.

"Thank you Nick. That means a lot. We're here." I said as we pulled up to my house. Stu was in custody right now, so mom has been a single mother taking care of all 275 kits. Gideon has been helping mom with the kits. We had to come here to tell mom about court. And to see if she'll come. She was broken hearted when Stu did what he did. She feels like she doesn't know him anymore. I don't know how hard that is. To love someone and trust them with your life for one second, then it all come crashing down.

"You think your mom will want to see me?" Nick asked worryingly.

"Relax Nick. Bonnie has been worried about you. She'd love to see you." I reassuringly said.

"Okay. If you say so." He said.

I knocked on the door. Bonnie came to the door within seconds. It was like she knew we were coming.

"Judy! I've so glad you've come. And you too Nick. How are you?" She asked.

"Great! Me and Nick are doing great. How are Gideon and you doing?" I asked.

"Oh we're doing good. Come on in!" She said ushering us inside. Once my foot walked past the door, my memories came back. The piercing sound of the shotgun. The screams of Nick. The spasms Nick had on the floor. All came flooding back like a tidal wave.

Me and Nick took a seas on the couch while Bonnie sat in her chair.

"So, what did you come here for?" She asked. I hesitated to respond.

"Dads' trial is Wednesday." I blurted out. Mom stopped drinking her tea and looked at me.

"What?" She asked.

"Dad goes to court on Wednesday. He should plead guilty and get it over with. If dad had any good left in him, he would plead guilty. We want you to come. You are a key witness. We need you mom." I pleaded.

"I don't know what to say. I don't know." She said.

"Please mom. We need you. Stu is guilty. We need you more than ever." I claimed hoping she would agree.

"I guess you're right. I'll go. I'll leave with you guys. I'll call my friend to babysit the kids. Let me go pack my bags." She said as she went to her room.

"That was, quick." Nick said.

"Yea. I didn't expect her to open up that quickly." I said.

She came back and asked us to stay for dinner before we left. We agreed.

I went to my old room. More memories came back. Mostly good ones. Nick came in after me.
