Miles knew she wasn't okay. No matter what she said, he knew she felt different. Nobody could act so casual with all of the bruises and scars that she received every day.

He almost forgot to take his medication, he was so worried. His mom had to remind him twice, asking if he was okay. He felt fine; he hadn't felt this good in a while. It was someone else he knew who wasn't okay, not him.

He wondered about her constantly. He texted Alya every five minutes. Normally, if she knew about him, it would be the other way around. But she didn't know yet, and he decided to cherish these moments while they lasted. You never knew what would happen when a close friend found out that you had a disease.

When he got to school, he had to admit it; he wasn't feeling his best at the moment. To be honest, he was feeling really dizzy. But Miles didn't care. He sat down next to Alya, waiting for Mr. Park and their next assignment.

When it was 8 o'clock, Mr. Park stood up and walked over to where he was in front of the whole class. "Today, students, starts our mid-term duets. This will determine 40% of your grade, and is due in two weeks. You may begin."

Immediately I grabbed Alya. "Partners?" I asked, smiling a wicked grin.

She laughed. "Of course! Do you want to work outside? I don't think I can take all this noise." She pointedly looked at Jax.

Jax help his hands up in mock offense. "Hey, I'm not the only loud one here!"

Miles's dizzyness returning, he said, "Yeah, sure." There were two Alya's now, two of everything.

"Um, pretty boy, over here," Alya said, waving her hand in his face. Oh, so Miles was talking to that Alya. Okay.

He stood up. "Let's go," he said. He wobbled every once and a while, and twice he had to grab onto something,
but Alya didn't notice. She was walking ahead of him.

Finally it was when Alya and Miles got to their spot when he collapsed.
