Alya could not even believe that Miles had asked Bianca to be his girlfriend. It was unbelievable. She hated herself for thinking that Miles was actually going to ask her out. That was a ridiculous idea to think about.

Their relationship was already up on Sasha Roy's blog, TMK. I guess they had made it official after Alya had stormed away from Miles. There were pictures of Bianca and Miles everywhere she turned, and they were seared in her mind.

Alya just had to put the past behind her. Right now, she had to focus on her classes, and what would happen if she came home late fretting over Miles.

Alya could not believe what she saw when she had gotten home. Her dad was with a girl his age, and for once he didn't notice her when she walked in through the back door. Giving a silent prayer of thanks, she used this opportunity and climbed quickly up the stairs.

Guiltily eager to hear their conversation, Alya leaned up against her door, thinking to herself. Think of how much more relaxing to come home when her dad had his girlfriend to keep him occupied!

A gruff voice sounded from the kitchen, obviously Alya's dad. "I need you to take her away."

A sound, gentle yet commanding, was made after he spoke. "Why? I-"

Her dad started to speak rapidly. "On top of everything else, Jannett, you know I can't handle Alya anymore.

A lump rose in Alya's throat. They're talking about me? About taking me away?

The woman, Jannett, sighed. "Mason, where would I even take here to? Do you really think that she would go with me by choice?"

Her dad sighed. "Take her somewhere nobody's even heard of. I don't need her calling somebody and then me getting put in jail because of it!"

Alya started breathing heavy. I got to get out of here!
