The next day, what happened was even more interesting than ever!

Mabel had gotten a date!

In fact, the book she had found?

It told the tale perfectly.

Her boyfriend, Norman, turned out to be a bunch of gnomes! The story told their tale perfectly.

Mabel was caught and forced to marry them, but Dipper saved her before they could do anything to her other than strap her to the ground!

Then she and her twin beat up their foes, and they ran. The gnomes assembled and she and Dipper were able to defeat them with a leaf blower!

Dipper wrote in the journal about it.

"This journal told me there was no one in Gravity Falls I could trust. But when you battle a hundred gnomes side-by-side with someone, you realize they probably always got your back.

Grunkle Stan told us there was nothing strange about this town, but who knows what other secrets are waiting to be unlocked? This is Dipper Pines, three-time Piedmont Middle School Spelling Bee finalist, singing off for the night."

Even stranger-when Mabel tried to write an entry in her mysterious book, after pretending she was asleep and waiting for Dipper to start his light snoring, she found the ink she used dried and disappeared.

It looked as if it was never there.

In fact, she used all her pens, pencils, and Dipper's still un-chewed pens, and they all reacted the same way.

Mabel thought it strange, put the book under her mattress, and got some sleep for the night.

She'd investigate tomorrow.

Or she'd tell Dipper.

Nah. The investigate-y thing is Dipper's.

She'd just leave a mystery, a mystery.

And she wouldn't tell Dipper, he'd just try to investigate.
