"First Lieutenant (Y/n) (L/n), reporting for duty," You said, saluting your captain.

Your hair was bound tightly in a bun, keeping the wavy (h/c) hair out of your face as it was your duty to be completely focused. Your uniform practically sparkled, leaving none to question you were an unwavering perfectionist, just as you had been trained to be. Your (e/c) eyes were sharp, anticipating the directions you would receive. But your badge gleamed more then anything.

You, First Lieutenant (Y/n) (L/n) were on the rise in the Custody Enforcement Unit, and you had only been there for about six months. You were so focused and determined you hadn't even realized you'd caught the eye of both a division head and the Head of the Custody Enforcement unit.

You walked into the planning room, the door closing on its own as you entered. The walls were lined with bookshelves, all filled with thick runes and maps. On the far wall a desk sat, lose papers scattered across it and an unfinished letter lay near a quill. In the center of the room was a stone table, a map stretched over its surface. A few stray papers littered the floor near it, and multiple commanders and their right hand lieutenants stood beside it, peering at the map with concentrated glares.

None but Commander Lahar looked up as you entered, and he motioned you to his side with a glance. You stoped beside him, a hand resting on your sword's hilt as you too peered down at the map of Fiore.

The general spoke, silencing the quite murmur between the others as they discussed the map before them. "This dark guild has been a thorn in our side for too long, and a danger to the village near by," He tapped a spot in a forest marked with an X, then pointed to the town of Grimor about ten miles east.

You remembered this town from your travels while you were in the guild Silent Angels. The village was quaint, and the people there were known for their pottery. You were often full of these 'fun facts' so to speak, coming from your years in a guild where you didn't do much but travel. Your vast knowledge had gained you a seat in the room where you now stood.

"I'll need you, Head Captain Lahar, to take your custody enforcement troops to the left, rounding this corner and setting up here," He said, directing our eyes with his finger. "Have one of your Lieutenants steer a regiment around to the right when you reach the rendezvous point."

Lahar saluted the general. "Sir, I'll take First Lieutenant (L/n) with me, and I'll send the Second Lieutenant to lead the second regiment," He said, still looking down at the map, lost in thought. I felt someone looking at me, and dared to glance across the table. I met eyes with Doranbolt before staring back at the map.

"Alright. Doranbolt you'll take the 3rd regiment of the Rune Knights with them, and stay with them until we reach the guild. Then you will join the fight, and Lahar you will prepare to take the prisoners. Am I clear?" The general finished, looking up from the table.

"Yes sir," Lahar and Doranbolt said.

"You are dismissed. Now..." He continued directing the others while we left. When the door was shut firmly behind us, I turned left while both Captains went to the right.

As I walked down the hall, my footsteps echoing in a steady pace, I heard a small piece of their conversation.

"I hope your decision to keep (L/n) with you was made out of logic, not emotion." Doranbolt said, a mix of danger and playfulness in his voice.

"Don't question me Doranbolt."

It took you a few seconds to realize what was said. You almost stopped, hesitating in your step, but then shook it off and kept walking. You knew they were friends, it was clear in the way they spoke. Maybe that was just playful banter.
