~(Y/n) POV~

"Tall, lean, keen old (Y/n). There's nothing and no one like him. Not to old a dog, always goin' on with his new tricks." These were my cousin Bickslow's favorite words. Always in that order too I might add. Always going on about my accent as well, but he had a hard time covering up that he was jealous of it. I didn't much resemble my cousin. Six foot four, consistently untidy blazing orange hair I had to gel daily, brown eyes, not particularly buff... No, I looked nothing like him. However, I had been in the Fairy Tail guild just as long as he had.

I was a Mage myself, and I might have enough confidence to say I was a good one at that. I used an uncommon gass Magic, producing different types of gass with ease. Steam was my favorite to mess around with. But aside from that I prided myself in my engineering. As my cousin was always so fond of pointing out, I enjoyed spending my time locked away with machines, making different trinkets for different occasions. Most of them turned out quite useful, disregarding my shoe lace tier, which ended up knotting Wendy's laces into a large ball, unable to be untied for two weeks. But we don't talk about that. Most people seemed quite impressed by my machines, but the dazzled eyes that swelled my heart the most belonged to Laxus.

It wasn't widly known that I was gay, but I knew Fairy Tail wouldn't really care. It was more that it just wasn't widly spread. For about a year I had grown increasingly fond of Laxus, and soon recognized the feeling of love. He was cold to the touch- uh, not literally of course, strong, brave, and loyal. The brawn to my brain. Or what little brain I could use properly when he was around. When I was caught off guard by him, which unfortunately happened a lot, I became clumsy and dumb. Any time it happened, I would have to get under control before speaking or else I'd babble nonsense. Not in the slightest bit atractive I should warn you. No, but when I was prepared, I could usually stay cool and be myself, something else I prided myself in.

I dressed that morning purposefully, and after exiting the bathroom, ran back in to check my reflection once more before leaving. Yes, today I would tell Laxus I was gay. If it went well at that point, maybe I would continue into my feelings, but I secretly hoped it wouldn't. Even if he were gay too, it was a slim chance he'd like me.

At the guild, I slid into the chair beside him at the bar and asked Mira for two beers.

"Morning," Laxus said, taking off his headphones. This was a good sign, he was giving me his full attention.

"It's three in the afternoon, but yes. Good morning to you as well. Don't oppose to a drink do you?" I said, leaning on the counter.

"Why not. Thanks Mira," He said as he took the mug from her, then taking a hearty sip. "So what's up?"

"Well, I actually wanted to tell you something," I said with a smile.

He raised his eyebrows. "Go on."

"Eh, you know, it's a bit of this, a bit of that, a bit of homosexuality," I suppressed a laugh as he choked on his drink, then panicked mentaly as I realized it might not be a good thing.

"R-Really!" He said, sounding nervous.

"Yeah," I continued slowly, "I don't think I told you, but I'm gay."

"Oh, um, cool..." He said, looking on the verge of sweating.

"Is something wrong..?" I was genuinely concerned I'd made a mistake now. I hadn't expected this.

"No, of course not... It's just," He lowered his voice considerably. "You're really that open about it?"

It hit me hard in the heart, pierced it, and left me to bleed out. I was confused. It seemed to me he didn't think I should be open about my sexuality.

"W-Well yes, naturally... Do you think I shouldn't be..?" The fun in this conversation had been drained, down to the very last drop.

"N-No. It's just... Well, I've never been open about it, so I was surprised you were is all..." He said nervously, looking down at his cup as if it were an incredibly important task.

"You mean to say- Wait, no way- You're gay too?!" I said quietly, staring in disbelief at him.

"Yeah," He said, frowning at his mug.

"Alright, spill the beans then. Who's the lucky guy?" I said, filling my voice with casual playfulness to hide my shock.

He leaned back in his chair, then turning his head to face me, looking my dead in the eye, said,

"You."

My heart pounded suddenly, and didn't stop beating furiously. I felt heat rise to my cheeks, and I gaped at him.

"Me?" I said, now thoroughly convinced I was dreaming.

"Yeah you. Now shut your mouth and either reject me or kiss me," His fierce eyes burned into me, setting my stomach on fire.

My ears were ringing now, and as I leaned closer to him, closing the gap between us, I pinched my thigh to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I wasn't.

My lips met his and we kissed for a moment before it became slightly more heated. We parted, and stared at eachother in disbelief. I couldn't see anyone else, no one else mattered.

"It's about time you told me," He said, then added, "I thought for sure you were straight," He laughed. "You have a way with girls if you hadn't realized." I laughed as well.

"When you started saying that stuff about being open, I thought you were homophobic for a second!" I said, relived he wasn't. He laughed again, and I soaked it in joyfully.

"Sorry, I was just stuck in the closet. It feels good to be open about it," It was my turn to smile.

"Well fuck closets. You're out now. Friday night at eight, I'm taking you to diner," I said before I even realized how happy I was.

He smiled, then started laughing loudly. I was a bit scared for a moment, but then he stopped laughing and looked at me happily.

"See you then, (Y/n)."
