Chapter Seventeen:

It has been twenty minutes since Mark has been awake. He has had a little bit of medication but not enough to make him act funny. Two people walk in. One is Easton and the other is Henry.

I stand up and go hug Easton and she hugs me back. Henry says, " They would only let two people in at a time. Everyone else is in the waiting room waiting to see you Mark."

Mark smiles at what Henry just said. " Well you know not everyone had to come see me. I will be home soon at least I hope. I don't want you all to be worried about me." Mark says.

" Well we all have been worried about you. What you did was stupid. You know that right?" Henry says.

" It wasn't stupid in my eyes and I would do it again in a heartbeat because I saved mom. The only thing going through my mind at the time was that I couldn't let that dick hurt basically the only woman who has always been there for me. She has always been more of a mom to me then my own mom."

" I agree with Henry but I'm glad that you saved Abby because I don't know what I would do without her. You are a hero in my eyes Mark and I'm glad that you made it through that scary thing." Easton says.

Mark smiles at her and she goes and gives him a hug which he returns. Henry says, " I hate to cut it short but like I said everyone is waiting to see you and I don't want someone to not be able to see you. I will stop by to see you when you get home and I know Easton will be there."

Easton nods. Henry gives all of us a hug and then Easton does the same before they walk out. A minute later Amber and Nicole walk in. They run to Mark and give him a hug. They step back and Amber says, " Thank you for saving my sister's life."

" It really wasn't a big deal. Like I was telling Henry Abby has always been more of a mom then my mom has. If I had to do it again I would."

Nicole and Amber nod. The nurse comes in and says, " I'm sorry but he needs his sleep."

Mark says, " I have four more people who are waiting to see me though. They are my aunts and my uncle. Can they please come say hello and then leave. Once they leave I promise I will get some sleep."

" Ok but they better make it fast."

Mark nods. Nicole and Amber gives us all a hug and then walk out. Grace and Luna walk in they give Mark a hug. Grace says, " I know we can only say hey and then we have to leave but I also want to say thanks for being a hero that day."

Mark nods and says, " No problem. You guys come and see me when I get home."

They say that they will. They give us all a hug and then walk out. Blain and Alex walk in. They go and give Mark a hug. Blain says, " Thank you for saving Abby and I that day."

" Yeah man if it wasn't for you then I wouldn't have my wife or my sister anymore." Alex says.

" It was no problem really. You guys make sure to come and see me when I get home ok."

They nod. They give us all a hug and before they go Alex says, " Oh and by the way Jamie and James are here. They told us to tell you that they love you and will stop by the house when you get home."

Mark nods and then they walk out. I make sure that Mark's pillow is comfortable for him and then he goes to sleep. Maggie wispers, " I called Aaron and told him that Mark pulled through. He will come see him when he gets home or something because he didn't want to come back up to the hospital."

I just nod.
