Chapter One

Alex's POV

I hid behind a stack of boxes as I heard someone coming into the room. I slipped on the glasses that helped me see through the boxes so I could find out what's happening once again, The Presidents Daughter Alana was escorted into the room with two men walking either side of her. Her hands were behind her back and the two men brought her to the centre of the room and sat her down on the chair. They tied her to the chair so she couldn't escape before they went out of the room. I slipped out from behind the boxes as soon as I couldn't hear them anymore. "You really need to be more careful next time." I told her as I untied her. Alana rolled her eyes at me as I took the tape off from around her mouth a second later. She looked at me. "My dad wouldn't let me go to a stupid concert so I decided to go without anyone knowing." I sighed.

"And how did that work out for you?" I asked as I helped her up. She looked down at the ground before Alana answered my question.

"Not so well." She admitted to me.

"Alana, you will always be under threat because of your father. But you mustn't go anywhere..." Alana cut me off.

"Without protection. I know." She told me

"Remember that next time." I replied to her.

Jack came into the room. Alana huffed before she went towards Jack and let him take her out of the room. I pressed the ear piece in my ear before I spoke into it. "The mission is complete. We have Alana." I told them.

"Nice work. I'll see you in five hours." The head of the agency told me.

"It might take a little longer than that." I replied to him and then as if on cue the doors flew open and one of the most dangerous men in America looked straight at me with hatred in his eyes. I smirked at him seconds later.

"Oh I'm sorry was that your prisoner?" I asked him sarcastically.

"I hate you Alex." He replied to me before he signalled his men over.

"Oh really? Because I thought we were best buddies." I fake pouted.

"Get him." He ordered as I took of running a second later.

I picked up the chair and threw it at the men, causing one of them to fall onto the ground.

"You idiot! Do I have to do everything myself?!" Dexter screamed as I reached the staircase.

Dexter chased after me as I reached the top of the staircase. "Alex! Get back here right now!" He yelled.

"I'm sorry. No can do. Although maybe we can arrange to have a coffee at some point?" I suggested.

Dexter glared at me as I opened the window and connected myself to the zip wire before I jumped off the window ledge

I hit the floor in the matter of seconds before I pressed the button so I was free from the wire.

I ran towards the car where Jack, Sebastien and Alana were waiting for me. I got in a second later.

Alana was sat next to the window that was shaded so no one could see inside the car and I sat next to her before I put my seat belt on.

"My father is going to kill me." Alana muttered.

I looked at her. "You think? Alana you could have been killed today." I reminded her a second later.

"But I wasn't." She replied to me.

"That's not the point." I said.

Alana looked at me. "Do you have kids?" She asked me.

"No." I said to her.

"You should seriously think about having them you'd make a great dad. You are constantly going on about things." Alana replied.

I chuckled. "When the conversation comes up again I'll make sure to tell my girlfriend that." As soon as I said that I remembered where I was supposed to be in under five hours.

"Guys can you pass me my phone? I need to call Demi." I told them. Sebs passed me my phone.

"Thanks." I said as I took it off him. I dialled Demi's number before I pressed my phone against my ear.

"Hello?" Demi said as she answered my call

"Hi Dems."

"Alex!" Demi practically shouted down the phone.

"Ow Dems." I replied.

"I'm sorry. I've just missed you." She told me.

I chuckled. "Me too. But I won't be going away again for at least another three months I promise."

"So how did it go?" Demi asked me.

"It went well. The business is doing okay."

Demi didn't know I was a secret agent. I planned on telling her one day but right now wasn't the right time.

"That's good. I can't wait to see you." Demi replied.

"Me either." I admitted.

"I love you." She said to me.

"I love you too Demi. So much." I replied before ending the call.
