"Thank you, Go Go!" I smiled, and pulled her into a hug that she barely returned. Adjusting her fingerless gloves, she began to walk to the door. "Don't go all boy crazy on me," She walked out and I heard her shoes squeak as she walked back to her lab area.
What a reaction. A reaction. REACTION! I remembered I had half-wittily dumped half the vial of acid into my concoction. Before I could even get up, I heard the door creak open. "T-Tadashi?" I stood straight up and smiled sheepishly. "Hey, Honey Lemon. Could we talk?" He asked, taking off his hat and rubbing his neck. "S-sure!" Don't sound over excited, he looks upset. "I mean... What is it?" I adjusted my glasses.
"About earlier, I- Oh my gosh!" Oh no. He hated it, didn't he? He hated the idea, I knew it.
"I know I was being stu-" He cut me off. "No, that!" He ran over to the table where my serum was starting to boil over, with pink and orange color. I ran over next to him and put on gloves, and began to start thinking of how to stop it.
"Um, is this what you meant to do?" He asked, turning valves on and off trying to get it to stop. "No! I didn't mean to put that much in, I was gonna test..." A giddy smile spread on my face as I began to hop in place. "What is it?" He asked worriedly.
I threw my hands up in the air, "Keep that bubbling! Don't let it stop or touch the table, I'll be right back!" Running out of my lab room I nearly tripped over somebody's robot but didn't stop to check. "Aha! Here you are," I began rolling the huge ball of tungsten carbide towards my station.
I stationed it in place in the middle of my testing area, and ran back into the lab where Tadashi was. "Come on, pour that stuff in here!" I held out a spray bottle and he carefully began to pour it into the vial. "Wait, wait..!" He said as I started to put the cap on.
"Follow me," I ran out to my testing area and began spraying the bottle of gas-like liquid around the ball of tungsten carbide. Tadashi followed and knelt under the cloud of pink and orange. "Here we go!" I pulled a lever, making the gravity heavier around the ball. The color zapped into it, changing it's steel color to vibrant ones. "Eee! Here comes my favorite part!" Tadashi stood behind me, watching with both worry and amusement. "What's your favorite pa--" He started talking too late, I pushed on the ball and a cloud of color exploded around us. Giggling, I turned to see his whole outfit covered with pink and orange which made me laugh harder.
"Well," He coughed out a cloud of pink. "That was colorful, wasn't it?" He began laughing and brushing off his clothes, but the color stained them. "Thank you so much for helping me!" I threw my arms around him in a hug, and then let go, collecting myself and standing with my hands folded. "Um, you wanted to talk to me?" I remembered.
Nodding, he inhaled. "Yeah about earlier. I just wanted to say--" I cut him off. "You don't have to go with me." I blurted.
"What?" He asked, rubbing his neck. I sighed and closed my eyes, preparing for what we were both going to say. "You don't have to go with me. I know you probably just said that to not embarrass either of us girls. But you don't have to go with me," I repeated and smiled best I could. Tadashi stayed silent. You should've kept your mouth shut in the beginning, Honey Lemon. My thoughts wanted to drag me down. Slowly a smile crept onto his face, and I looked confused. Then he started to laugh, which just made me more confused. "Honey Lemon, I want to go with you!" He said smiling. I jumped in place for a second. "Really?!" I didn't care if I sounded too excited, I just was! "Yeah, I came here to tell you that you could go with somebody else if you didn't want to go with me. Ironic, right?" He smiled, which made me smiler wider.
"Yeah!" I giggled.
