Sitting in class the teacher talked on, and on.... Forever.
"Now the subject of nerves. Nerves give you impulses and sometimes you act on an impulse, doing something you wouldn't normally do. We've all had experienced like that." What they said there, got my attention. I've acted on impulses lately. I need to get it under control, otherwise I'll react in a way I normally wouldn't.
"But just because you act differently on an impulse, doesn't always mean it's the bad or wrong thing to do." I raised my hand and I'm called on.
"So, just because your acting like... Somebody else, it doesn't mean that your doing the absolutely wrong thing, the thing that could determine a big decision?" I ask. Mrs.Lam smiled.
"Aiko, your right. Even if it's determining a big decision, it doesn't mean your impulse will make the wrong choice. Your nerves control each and every one of you more than you'll ever know. Lily, what did you have for breakfast?" She asks. Lily thought a moment.
"Spaghetti from last night."
"Why?"
"Because I was rushed on time, and I got nervous that I'd be late."
"See? Nerves. Nerves determine many things in your life." The bell rings. Just when it was getting good. Walking out I nearly bump into Baily.
"Hey, Aiko. Nice day, huh? Don't answer. All I want you to know is that me and Tadashi are going to the dance. I already asked him."
"So you asked him, yes, that's true. Now what was his reply?" I asked. Baily sighed.
"He said he had another girl in mind. I know, far fetched. But I know he's playing hard to get. Typical Tadashi." Just then, Tadashi walked up.
"Who are you going with, Aiko?" She asked, slyly. I was cracking inside. Nerves.
"Well, I wasn't- and you-" nerves again. "And he-" Here comes the impulse. "He would nev-" Then the action. "I was planning on going with Tadashi actually, and I was just about to ask, actually. What do you say Tadashi, wanna go to the dance?" Wow.
He stood there, blankly.
"Ha! He won't even say no! What a classic. C'mon Tadashi, wouldn't you rather go with me?" She asked being as cute as she could. He shook his head.
"Sure, Aiko. What time do I pick you up?" Oh my....Golly gee.
"Hmm... Six ish?"
"Deal, see to next week then." He then left. Baily was awe struck.
"Aiko, this is NOT OVER." She puffed.
"But I do think it is." I then left her there, in the midst of my moment. Once inside my lab, I did my freaking out. My head: oh my gosh! I just asked Tadashi Hamads to the dance and he said yes! Eeeekkkk?! Mrs.Lam was right. Nerves make everything happen. Then that leads to impulse, and that leads to the action. WOW!
