Clarke's PoV:
After the girl rode on, we all just stood there in silence.
"Okay are we sure this school really exists?" Octavia turned to me with her hand on her hip and an eyebrow raised.
"Yes," I glared at her. "Our parents contacted the school themselves."
"Correction," Octavia stepped up towards me, "your mum and the rest of the council. Raven, Bellamy and I don't even have parents."

This was true. Octavia looked mad, and I knew that under her pretty and girly exterior was a personality that would plunge a knife into anyone who crossed her. I couldn't let our group get into an argument before we'd even found our school. I was about to suggest we follow the route the horse rider went before I saw the enchantress coming back towards us at a fast pace.

Lexa's PoV:
Anya was right. I checked my watch as I was riding and I would definitely be late. Thankfully, at this time in the morning, there weren't any cars on the track, and I didn't encounter any other horses, so I had the route to myself.

"Hey!" I heard a distant voice with an unfamiliar accent from ahead in the forest.
Just what I need, I thought to myself, I'm late and now I have to stop.

I pulled my hood up and slowed next to the girl who had shouted, who was stood with two other girls and a boy. She was pretty, with wavy blonde hair and gleaming eyes.
"You stopped my horse and I," I said, coming across slightly more angry than I was. "Explain."
When the blonde spoke, I barely registered what she said. Her voice was adorable. The accent, the way it was strong and determined, like a leader, yet also clearly intimidated by me. I was tempted to take my hood down and appear more friendly, but then I remembered I had a reputation to uphold, and they should learn me to be intimidating anyway.
"We don't know how to get to this school," I registered her saying. "What was it called?" she turned to her friends for help.
"Polis Academy," the one with the long brown hair said.
Polis Academy. I had two both very tempting choices. The first, be nice and lead them to their school, to my school. The second, to be a total bitch and leave them to find it for themselves.
"Polis Academy?" I repeated. I paused, before deciding on which option to go with. "Never heard of it."

I went with the second.

Digging my heels into Roan, I set off towards school again. I was going to be even more late now, which wasn't a good thing on my first day back.

After about a minute of galloping, it suddenly occurred to me that if I didn't help them my reputation wouldn't be as strong, whereas if I did I could get them to follow me and respect me, which would further improve my reputation. I needed to go back.

"I lied," I halted beside them on my horse.
"Sorry?" the blonde looked annoyed, amused and awed. She was a curious being.
"Polis Academy," I said, and pulled my hood down. "It's my school. I can lead you there."
"Why'd you just leave us?" the long haired brunette said, walking towards me with a knife. A fucking knife. I didn't know where these foreign freaks came from but I knew Polis Academy did not tolerate knives from ordinary students.
"Octavia!" the blonde pulled the crazy brunette back.
Octavia. So that was a psychotic bitch's name. I learned then not to cross this deceivingly harmless girl.
"She lied to us Clarke," Octavia shoved the blonde off her.
So Clarke was the pretty girl's name. I liked that.
"I'm Lexa," I said, trying to make myself appear nicer. "Lexa Woodward."
"Why should we trust you?" the boy crossed his arms and looked at me with the same emotions Clarke had worn. I wondered then if they were together. That thought seemed to crush me. No. I couldn't fall back into the trap of love. Not after freshman year. I refused to let that happen again.
"Yeah," the other girl looked me up and down with disgust. "You're a liar. I don't know what goes on in your...what even is this place? Technology deprived wood. Whatever, but where we come from, lying isn't tolerated."
That made me angry.
"Why don't you just go back home then," I smirked.
"Who even are you?" Octavia shouted, her hand reaching for her knife again. Clarke shot her a glare, and her grip loosened. Octavia rolled her eyes and wondered off next to the boy.
"I'm Clarke," she reached upwards to shake my hand. I dismounted Roan before taking her hand. "This is Octavia," she nodded towards her friend with the anger issues, "that's Raven," pointing to the other girl, "and this is Bellamy," she put a hand on his shoulder. I flinched at the movement. So they were dating. Clarke clearly saw my flinch, because she immediately removed her hand from Bellamy's shoulder.
I lifted my chin and folded my arms. "Like I said, I'm Lexa. You may refer to me as Heda or Commander. Only if we are friends may you call me Lexa," I said sternly.
"Commander?" Octavia snorted.
