--Mallori's POV--

Mark and I walked into the Cafe, which seems like it was renovated overnight! The bland, white walls were now a bright, bubbly yellow and teal swirl. The green tables were no longer all 2 people tables, there were now booths that could fit at least 6 people. They were no longer green, but a mahogany shade, with a dark red rim running around the table. The crumbling tiles were now switched for a beautiful purple and blue stripped carpet. We looked around almost awestruck at how much has changed around here.

"Wow!" Mark exclaimed. "I haven't been here in a few months but I didn't think THIS much would change!"

I giggled at what he said.
"You're so funny! It's been under renovation for the past few months. Today is its second day after reopening!" Our attention was grabbed by a lady who said,
"Welcome to Downtown Cafe! Table for two?" We looked at her and Mark said, "Yep! Thank you!" The lady smiled. "Your welcome!" She grabbed two menus and lead us to our table. We sat down on opposite sides of the table which was just freshly cleaned.

"Alrighty! Here are your menus and your waiter will be out shortly!" She walked off back to her station and helped the next people in line.

"Wow!" I exclaimed.
"The people here are really nice!" Mark smiled.
"No kidding! I bet you five dollars that I can make our waiter riled up before you can." I gasp.
"Are you crazy??! Only five dollars?" We both started laughing and Mark said.
"You're on."

We both sat quietly, pondering how to make our waiter frustrated with us. We were both sucked out of our thoughts when our waiter arrived.
"Hello! My name is Karina Tice and welcome to Downtown Cafe! Do you know what you would like to drink?" Me and Mark threw glances at eachother, like daggers, and knew it was time.

"Excuse me miss, but do you serve Root Beer?" Mark said sweetly.
"I'm sorry sir, but we don't. We have Dr. Pepper if you would like that instead?" Mark had a mischievous grin on his face.
"Ok then, may I have Root Beer?" Karina was quite confused at his answer.
"Sir, I'm sorry but we don't have Root Beer. Would you like Dr. Pepper instead?" I knew this was my time to speak up.
"Sorry about my friend Mark here. He gets confused easily. A Dr. Pepper is fine for him."

Mark threw playfully angry glances at me.
"I'll have a sweet tea." She jotted that down on her notepad.
"Ok! And are you both ready to order?" It was so hard not to laugh.

"Yep! We sure are! Can I get a Mac and Cheese with no cheese?" Mark asked. Karina was now Majorly perplexed. "Um.. Come again sir?" Mark was about to burst and I could see it.
"May I have a Mac and Cheese with no cheese?" Um... Ok I'll see what I can do." Karina turned to me.
"And for you miss?" I was about to burst out laughing like a bubble but I wouldn't. I had to win this bet!
"May I have-" I started snickering but Karina didn't notice. I cleared my throat.
"May I have everything on the menu?"

Karina was now looking frustrated. "I'm sorry, did you say, can I have everything on the menu?" I nodded my head yes, fearing I would start laughing if I spoke another word.

"What is wrong with you guys? Not to be rude or anything but-" Suddenly, me and Mark started laughing like maniacs. We earned a few stares but it was worth it. Karina looked so flustered and embarrassed.

"I'm sorry Karina!" Mark said in between breaths.
"This was a joke. A bet we set between ourselves." He motioned to me and him." Karina managed to stay calm, but her cheeks were a bright red, showing she was still flustered.

"Mark and I noticed everyone was so cheerful and bubbly, so we wanted to see how quickly we could make one of you snap. Again we are both sorry." I told Karina. She put on a smile and started laughing herself.

"Hahaha! Really guys? Ok, I will admit I started to get frustrated, but that was awesome! You got me good!" Mark and I were shocked with her reaction, but laughed it off.

"I'm Mark. And This is Mallori." He pointed to me." We both work at the police station a few blocks away." Karina managed to calm down.

"That's cool! Well, if you didn't know already, I'm Karina! Pleasure to meet you two!" Karina had short brown hair, that went to her shoulders. She was tan, and looked like she was Mexican. She had dirt brown eyes and looked almost 5'3 in hight. She wasn't wearing much makeup. Only Mascara and a little Blush. She seemed super bubbly and talkative. A good friend to have.

"But seriously, what do you guys want to order?" Karina said.
Suddenly, we heard alarms going off from across the street. Mark and I stood up and looked out the windows. Someone was robbing the jewelry store!
