>•<Mallori's POV>•<

A few hours later. Mallori made Mark and herself lunch and explained the story during the meal. The two were currently in the kid's room Mark was resting in.

"And that's about it. We kissed and there was an explosion." I sighed and twiddled my thumbs waiting for Marks reaction. I left out the part about telling Jack my past. The only person I told had just turned evil, so what was the point? Mark had his elbows on his knees, trying to concentrate, or possibly think. He was staring at the floor when I finished my story.

Mark cracked his knuckles with a satisfying pop. His face was slightly red, as if he was angry. "Mark are you okay? You seem frustrated." I laced my voice with concern to hopefully get a straight answer from him. He looked up at me. We made eye contact for a split second and he looked away.

"That's quite interesting. Do you have any idea how you guys snogging would've cause anti to come out? I mean, it doesn't really make any sense to me." I felt my cheeks  burn up. "Mark it wasn't that heated! It was just a normal kiss. Also, I do have a theory as to how that unleashed anti. Jack was already internally fighting him off when I showed up. When we kissed, Jack must've been vulnerable, at his weakest point."

My stomach rumbled. "I'll get us some chips. We're running low on food, so we need to go on a supply run soon. Oh my god, I'm talking like its the apocalypse. Jeeze, that totally makes me feel safer."

Mark smiled, and I laughed. I patted his head and walked out to our semi-kitchen. It was pretty old tech and mostly destroyed so I just set all our food on the counter. From our food rations, we had about 4 meals, 7 snacks, and 9 water bottles left. I grabbed two bags of chips and ate mine in the kitchen. I grabbed the other and walked into the bedroom.

>•<Marks POV>•<

I sat on my bed, lost in thought. "How the heck did the man I once loved turn Evil?" I questioned to myself. I heard the crinkling of a bag and looked up to see Mallori bringing me a small bag of potato chips.

"Sweet! Thanks Mallori." I opened the bag and smelt the deliciously unhealthy saltiness of the chips. I greedily grabbed a handful of the chips and stuffed them in my mouth. Only one of the chips successfully went into my mouth. Mallori was staring at me like I just committed a crime. I gave her a deadly glare.

"5 SECOND RULE" I bent down to grab Anti's fallen brethren and the bag of chips were shot out of my hand.
"My chiiippss!!"I looked out the window to my left and saw a familiar face. I stared at him in silence, his green hair blowing in the wind.

"Seems like I've found a duet of Fairly Local friends. Care to take a Ride to my House of Gold?"

There was a bright light and the wall in front of us was suddenly gone.
Jack gave Mallori and I a sinister smile. Behind him, was a black van, with guards, which he expected us to just walk right into. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no. My throat was quite parched and I was thankful that Mallori spoke up.

"You really think we're just waltz into that van? You're like a dog that inspires a rabbit. You inspire us to keep running, keep surviving. Mark and I have been running for quite a while and you hadn't found us. We aren't going to just give up now." Jack laughed. It wasn't like a normal laugh. It was a dark, creepy, maniac laugh. His voice was deep, causing his laugh to be even more frightening.

"It's funny how you think you might be able to actually get out of this situation. You're cornered, surrounded, and have nowhere to run. I like you guys. You never know when to quit."

Suddenly, Mallori and I were blinded by a flashing red light. A few seconds later, the light was gone. I turned and saw a steaming, gaping hole in the wall behind me.

"That was a warning. Next time you won't be so lucky. Come with me now, and I won't have to harm anyone you love. Oh, did I mention, Mark, that I have your parents? And Mallori, that I have your sister and best friend? The more damage you do to me, the more damage you'll do to your friends."
I stood frozen, staring at anti with a seething hate, wanting to rip him limb from limb. I wanted to listen to him scream, and beg for mercy, which I would give none of.

"SHITE!!" Mallori cursed. She walked over to the wall closest to her and punched it, making another dent in our 'used to be' home.

"Well aren't you just a bundle of joy?"

Jack flew through the hole in the house and was inches from my face. He had a ever so slight tenderness in his malicious voice.

"Take the girl."
"WHAT NO--"
"You brought this upon yourself Mark. Your parents shall have the best time of their lives when I return to my base. Adios."

Jack held his arms out has he flew backwards, and his guards were released.
"It's time to fight. You ready Mal?"
"Ready as I'll ever be. Let's get this over with."
