---------------------
Later that same day you were reading through the Enochian book, finger marking your place as you wrote down the translations as best as you could. Sam turned away from his laptop- looking at you reading peacefully and Dean, who was busy eating a burger for his breakfast.
"I came across a possible case." He said, and you hummed in acknowledgement, finishing the sentence before closing the book with the paper tucked in your spot, pencil lying neatly beside it.
"What is it?" You asked, leaning back in the chair and stretching. You were already starting to feel tired and wanted to go back to sleep, but the boys didn't know about your activities much earlier this morning, and you'd rather keep it that way. So no going back to sleep.
"Three people have gone missing, and then all found a day after their disappearance, throat ripped out and sucked dry." He said, and Dean scoffed into his burger, rolling his eyes.
"So vampires then." You stated, and Sam nodded.
"Sure sounds like it, and it's even close by... about two towns away." Sam said and you stood up, your tank top rumpled from having been bent over for so long.
"Alright then, let's clear this one up, shall we?" You asked, and when both boys nodded you turned and went to your room, changing into a much more comfortable outfit. Which happened to be a grey flannel with a pair of blue jeans- white tank top underneath. You grabbed your duffel bag, making sure your usual weapons were in there, and tossed your machete in there, zipping it up. You slung the bag over your shoulder and began heading back towards the library, pausing by Gadreel's hallway once more...
You looked around before heading to his room, entering quietly. You turned to face him, and he looked up at you- his earlier wounds healed. He smiled softly and you couldn't help but smile back, your own smile hesitant.
"We're going two towns over, a nest of vampires seems to be attacking the residents... we should be back by nightfall honestly, the town is small and there aren't many places for them to hide... " You looked at the ground, shuffling your feet. "You'll be spared the beatings for today, and tomorrow most likely." You added in a softer voice, hesitantly looking at Gadreel. He watched you carefully, his green eyes shining softly.
"Be careful... always watch your back." He said, and you nodded, your eyes darting to his wings before you turned and left, the tightness in your chest from seeing his wings shrinking. Your worry for the angel growing slightly.
'He's fine, he's locked away in the safest place in the world.' You thought, shaking your head as you headed out towards the boys.
Gadreel looked at his own wings, eyes narrowing slightly as he looked back to the door. Considering there was nothing behind him but bare wall, it could only mean that she had been staring at his wings.
'Unless she zones out...' He thought, eyes narrowing slightly.
You slid into the back seat of the impala, the jacket you had brought being bundled up and put against the window. You lay back on it and close your eyes, spreading out across the backseat as the boys get in and Dean starts the car.
