Summary: You properly visit Gadreel the next day to avoid the boys, and apologize. He tells you a story and you listen, shocked that he was telling you this.

---------------------

When you woke the next morning you felt oddly refreshed but tired, and you groaned softly, running a hand over your face as you rolled onto your back. There was a spike of pain and you rolled back onto your side. You took a deep breath through your nose, laying in bed for a few more moments before you pushed yourself out, right hand knuckles sore as you grabbed a change of clothes and headed to the shower.

Once you finished with showering you carefully wrapped your right hand, the pearly white bandages sending a pang through your chest and made you pause, taking in a breath through your teeth before it passed.

You made your way down the halls, not at all wanting to see Sam or Dean, and went to Gadreel's room instead, knowing at least there you wouldn't haven't to explain yourself. Explain something you didn't understand. The boys voices floated from the library, and you realized that Castiel was there. Yep, definitely avoiding them for as long as you could.

You ducked into Gadreel's room, closing the door behind you and locking it so that the boys couldn't enter, before sitting down against the wall. You pulled your knees to your chest, arms wrapping around them as you put your forehead to your knees, feeling a bit better in Gadreel's presence. Though it felt like your skin was being stretched on your back- where the gouges were.

"... I'm sorry." You said softly, pulling your face out of your knees so you could look him in the eye. "I'm sorry I came in here after the hunt, and put you in danger." You finished, throat beginning to close as you finally looked at him. His cuts and scrapes had closed, but he still had dry blood sticking to his face- indicating what was where. He had smeared blood along his lips, indicating there had been a split lip- and dry blood caked to his left cheek. Dean's favorite attacking spot apparently.

"Don't be..." He said softly, his green eyes searching your face, for what, you didn't know, but you let him search. There was silence between the two of you and your stomach grumbled quietly, but grew queasy at the thought of confronting the trio. "When Earth was first created, God created the garden of Eden." He spoke, and you blinked several times, straightening out a little bit as you watched him. Why was he telling you this?

"Adam and Eve were created, and in it they resided. Perfect, sinless, and everything God wanted." He said, and you rested your chin on your knees, listening to his voice. Gosh- it sounded so smooth and lulled you into a state of calm and serenity. "Then, the snake got into the garden." His voice dropped, and your brows furrowed slightly. "The snake got past me- and into the garden. I didn't know till it was too late. I was blamed for the downfall of man." He said, and your eyes widened.

"So you were locked up, and beaten, for making us human?" You whispered, and his brows furrowed slightly.

"Not for making you human. You were already human, no, for letting Lucifer in and tainting the Garden of Eden..." He said, and your brows furrowed slightly as adjusted your position, uncurling your legs and stretching them out in front of you- jeans brushing against the ground as you did so.

"I'm sorry you had to suffer so long." You said, and he watched you- as if he was puzzled. He stayed silent and you stood, walking forward and crouched beside him, looking at the cuff around his left hand and at the little keyhole. Instead of having to crawl underneath his wings- because you didn't want him to know that you could see them, maybe if you just unlocked one and had him pull his hands around front instead it could work. You pulled the bobby pin out of the pocket of your flannel- knowing that you had it there. In every flannel there was one bobby pin stashed away.

You made quick work of the cuff, the sound of it unraveling filling the air and the sound of the metal hitting the cement, the ring sounding and echoing through the air. The hair on the back of your neck stood on end, and you slowly stood, watching Gadreel carefully. You let out a soft sigh, moving to the front of him and hold you hand out for his, the other held out for the cuff.

"I-I figured... you wouldn't want to be cuffed in the back." You muttered, and he looked so grateful as he rested the back of his hand in your palm, your hand seeming small compared to his. You ignored the sudden warmth and longing with the contact, letting him drop the cuff in your hand before you gently cuffed him, making sure it wasn't as tight as before.

"Thank you- truly." He said, and you blushed as you shook your head slightly, stashing the bobby pin away and removing your hand from his, quickly moving back to the door.

"I have to go- I need to eat... I want to come back later today, but I don't know..." You said, looking over your shoulder at him. He simply smiled, green eyes sparkling.

"Don't worry, I'll be here." He said, and you let out a bittersweet laugh shaking your head slightly before unlocking the door and opening it, leaving the room. You took your sweet time heading to the library, the three voices still floating down the hall. You peeked your head around the corner, and watched as the three talked, Dean sporting a colorful bruise on his cheek as he sat down across from Sam, Castiel standing at the head of the table with his back to you.

You cautiously took a step in and it was as if you had announced yourself with fanfare, for they all three turned to look at you. You swallowed thickly, and Dean stood, hands resting on the table almost as if he was afraid to stand. You avoided Dean's eyes, leaning against the doorway and interlacing your hands together.

"(Y/n) I-" Cas cut Dean off, raising a hand as he watched you quietly.

"Why did you punch Dean (Y/n)?" Castiel asked, and you took a deep breath through your nose, pushing yourself off the doorframe and glaring over at Dean, jaw clenching tightly.

"He's got it in his head that Gadreel did something to me- that I've been with him long enough or even visited him for the angel to do something to me!" You snarled, and Sam looked between the two of you before his eyes rested on you.

"Have you been visiting him?" He asked, and your jaw clenched as you turned your head to look at him.

"No- I haven't." You spat, and the questions just kept coming.

"Then why did you run to Gadreels room after you were turned? According to Sam and Dean they couldn't find you till Gadreel finally called out for them." Castiel spoke, and a blush of shame rose onto your cheeks as you tried to take a deep breath through your nose.

"I don't remember most of what happened after I was put in the back of the Impala... I don't know why I would go to his room!" You defended, but your conviction behind your words was beginning to falter, and Castiel noticed.

"You're lying, maybe not about your memory but you're lying about not visiting him." Castiel said, advancing towards you. You took a step back, shaking your head slightly. Castiel grabbed your forearm and lifted two fingers to your head, resting them against your forehead. You froze as he invaded your memories, his eyes widening slightly as he pulled away.

"Why have you been visiting him?" He demanded, holding onto your forearm tighter. You kept silent, ripping your arm out of his grip and turning away.

"It doesn't matter, it really doesn't. You all made him out to be the bad guy before you even knew him." You said, leaving the room before anyone could really argue with your statement. Time to return back to your room and avoid the boys for the rest of the day.
