Summary: You finally decide to do some research while avoiding the boys, and after nearly giving up you call in Cas, deciding to get answers from a correct and very much alive source. Course, the answers he gave you were not what you were expecting.

After a few days of avoiding the boys, they finally got the memo and left you alone about the whole situation. Dean's face was healing up quite nicely, Sam brushed the awkward air away, and Cas... well Cas showed up once and then disappeared, something about Angel business...

You were currently laying in your bed, pen bouncing against your leg as your left hand rested on your keyboard, eyes narrowed slightly as you pouted. You were currently trying to research 'Humans seeing Angels wings' and honestly the results you were receiving made you feel like you were living in a freaking comedy. "Sightings" and "Stories" speaking of humans who saw Angel wings, but then either a, died of it, or b, suddenly disappeared without a trace.

"Obviously they're fake." You muttered to yourself, exiting out of a story about a child having her own angel wings, given to her by her "Guardian Angel". What a load of bull. You let out another sigh and brought the pen to your mouth, teeth gnawing on the cap as you leaned back, resting against your headboard as the computer screen glared at you. You let your head rest against your headboard, eyes traveling across the ceiling as you sunk into your thoughts.

You wanted desperately to know why you could see Gadreel's wings, but why Dean and Sam couldn't- and basically every other goddamn human on the earth. Then, it seemed to suddenly occur to you. Why not ask an Angel why a human could see an Angel's wings, and only that one human. You closed your eyes and removed the pen from your mouth, letting out a soft sigh.

"Yo- Cas. Look- I know we didn't exactly part on best of terms last time but I need some answers, and research is not helping me much... Please come, I just- I'm tired of not knowing." You said, eyes staying closed as you waited and listened. Then you heard it- the flutter of wings signifying the man had heard. Your eyes opened and you looked over to your door, watching as Cas leaned up against it, arms crossed across his chest as he stared at you in a sort of alarming way.

"What is it?" He asked, voice gruff and demanding as he walked forward, stopping at the foot of your bed. You steadied yourself- clutching the pen tightly in your left hand and watched him carefully, mulling over your words.

"When a human can see an Angel's wings- what does that mean?" You asked, and his tense body loosened slightly, his jaw going from clenched to relaxed as his arms sagged a bit. A look of knowing came into his eyes and you felt your heart sag. Of course he would know- he had been the one to mind fuck you a few days ago to find the truth.

"It's... when a human can see an angel's wings it a mark of a soulmate." He said, and you were very unprepared. You had expected something ridiculous, something like 'only females can see their wings' or some other stupid ridiculous thing- not something about soulmates.

"S-soulmates?" You squeaked out, and Cas hesitated before nodding, coming around to the side before sitting down on the bed, looking rather uncomfortable with the topic. "So you're saying that the reason I see his wings- is because we're meant to be?" You said softly, and Cas nodded. You looked down at the computer, some of the stories suddenly making sense. Not the whole of them, and even with the ones that did make sense, it certainly wasn't the whole story. Just the bits and pieces of them.

"Yes, and for a human... I know you're already feeling the affects of it. Punching Dean, cleaning up Gadreel despite him having his grace... your conscious is growing comfortable with the idea of a soulmate, and you're unwillingly acting upon the developing feelings... Gadreel probably has an inkling of what's happening by now." He said, and you pulled the pen back to your lips, chewing on the cap nervously with your front teeth.

"But I don't- I- how many times has this happened?" You asked, your eyes darting from the computer to him. He could see the fear beginning to grow in your eyes, your heart beginning to pick up its pace as probably some horrid and very unrealistic thoughts came to your mind.

"It's, rare to say the least... The last time this happened-" He cut himself off and your heart skipped a beat at his pause, your teeth biting down a tad bit harder on the cap as your right arm wrapped around your stomach, left elbow resting on your right wrist as you kept the pen in your mouth. "The last time it happened, the human was killed." He whispered, and your heart lept into your throat as your whole body tensed, eyes widening slowly.

"I don't want to die." Was the first thing out of your mouth, and Castiel looked up from his lap to you, eyes widening slightly at your statement. "I don't want to be killed for something I can't control." You whispered, pen slipping from your hand and into your lap, your left arm wrapping around your stomach as well. Castiel paused, lips parted slightly as he tried to think of something to say, anything to try and calm you down.

"You're probably already experiencing some... symptoms, of it." He said instead, and your teary eyes locked onto his own calm ones. He watched the storm battle on in your eyes before you answered, a slight nod of the head. "What are you experiencing?" He asked, and you tore your gaze away from him as you looked back to your laptop- reaching forward and gently closing the lid.

"Sometimes, when Dean vents his-" you waved a hand around. "Whatever on Gadreel, I feel, a ghost of the pain. I woke up one morning because an intense pain on my back- and I found out that Dean had finally attacked something other than Gadreels face earlier on that night." You said, reaching up to rub your shoulder at the memory. Castiel's eyebrows furrowed and you looked over at him.

"You can't tell them." You whispered, voice begging. "Please- don't- I don't have the answer they'll want." You whispered pitifully, and Castiel nodded after a moment.

"I won't tell them, but you shouldn't keep it from them for long... Father knows how long secrets last here, and how bad it gets when they're revealed." He said, standing up and fixing his coat and casting you one last look that you couldn't pick apart. He disappeared and you jumped slightly at the sudden disappearance, resigning yourself to your troubling thoughts as you tossed your pen onto the nightstand, gently placing your computer beside it and laying on top of your covers.

The clock on the nightstand said two in the afternoon, and you groaned. A little nap wouldn't hurt- and if you were lucky maybe you could sleep through the rest for the day and until tomorrow morning. If you were lucky.
