Prologue

*100 years ago

Meredith's P.O.V

"You have to leave now Meredith!" My mother exclaims rushing in front of me stuffing a bag in my hands.

"Why mother? What did I do?" I plead tears streaming down my face. I was so confused on why people were after me.

"Darling I know your scared and confused. But this is for your protection. People are afraid of what you'll become" Mother says a bit gentler taking my face into her hands. I sniffle a little looking into her eyes. Mother sighs softly gently wiping away my tears

"There is a secret cabin in the location we are sending you. There you will meet Agatha. She will be there to guide and protect you. It has everything you will need baby. Everything will make sense soon.." Mother says quickly looking behind her turning back to me

"Be strong my love" she whispers kissing my forehead before disappearing around the corner.

I look around me seeing no one was in the dark cellar but me. I wipe my eyes walking towards the exit of the castle.

A few days ago people of the kingdom found out about me being a pure white wolf. And since white wolfs are so rare they're scared of me. I don't know why! I never harm anyone, except when it's necessary. I don't understand why everyone wants me dead.

I find the giant black gate doors that led to the outside world. I push open one of the doors taking a step outside.

Yelling could be heard from the front of the castle as well as the smell of smoke in the air. I sigh sliding my bag over my shoulder shifting into my wolf.

I look around my surroundings making sure no one is near but I see a light from a torch coming towards me. I quickly run down the hill towards the trees

"There it is!" A mans voice yells loudly, Howls fill the air causing my heart to pound fast.

Run Meredith!

My fathers panicked voice shouts in my head. Obeying I run as fast as my legs would carry me. If I slowed down at all I knew my life would be ended.

My fathers territory is very big but once I cross pack borders no one will follow me since they do not want to risk stepping onto enemy territory. But my father has cleared it with our most trusted allies that I will be crossing and they will have an eye out for me.

The farther and farther away from the pack I got the more the pain in my chest grew. My mother warned me that this would happen. My ties to the pack are about to be broken. If I kept the ties members of the pack and the town would be able to track me and kill me. So my father and mother both knew they would have to break my bond to them in order to keep me safe.

I look at the land ahead of me and the pack borders are 20 feet ahead. The moment I step over my ties to my parents and siblings will be broken. We will all feel the pain.

I look behind me seeing the wolfs still chasing me.

I love you

I say in my parents and siblings minds before stepping over the border. Instantly it felt like my chest had snapped in half. The pain sends me tumbling to the ground in agonizing pain

Loud powerful howls of pain and sadness erupt travel for miles across the territory. I knew it was my parents mourning the loss of me. My heart aches knowing I'll never be able to see my parents again.

I'm being hunted. And I need to stop it.
