I hum softly to myself putting the wood in the middle of the rock circle. I place the wood in a position that makes it stand in a triangle

"Alright Cassie do your thing" I say standing back from the fireplace a little

Cassie is a half werewolf and half witch. Her mother is a witch and her father is a werewolf. After many years of being alone they finally found each other and learned they were mates. Which is pretty rare. So that makes Cassie a powerful asset to this pack

Cassie smirks walking forward. She lifts her hand letting it be engulfed in flames. I stare at her hand still fascinated on how she is able to do it

Cassie tosses the fire into the fire pit the way you would toss a baseball. The fire pit lights up in a good sized flame that lights up the dark sky

I grin thanking her before sitting down on one of the logs.

"When are they coming?" Cassie asks taking a seat on the log next to mine

I sigh softly glancing at the trees "Soon.. I feel them" I say looking back down at the fire sticking another small piece of wood in.

Cassie inhales deeply looking at me "Are you scared?" She asks suddenly.

I look over at her a bit taken back by the question "Of?" I ask having a feeling of what she's gonna say

Cass rolls her eyes as if saying 'You know what I mean'. I bite my lip looking at the fire

"Am I scared of the fact that basically the whole werewolf race wants me dead and they are hunting me as we speak? No. Absolutely not. Am I scared of the destiny the moon goddess as appointed me?... yes very" I sigh looking Cassie in the eyes letting her know I'm being genuine

Cassie bites her lip giving a small nod "Addy.. you're the strongest she-wolf I know. I'm not just talking about psychically, I'm talking about emotionally too... you've been through a lot as a child and you had to grow up fast- that's why I know that you won't back down from this" she says sternly

I look down at the fire seeing the sparks fly into the sky. Sighing I nod a little. I did have to grow up fast. I had to faster than David, I guess that's why he still acts like a child sometimes.

"Do you know how powerful you are?" Cassie suddenly asks breaking the silence amongst the air.

I glance over at her shrugging "I mean.. I guess I know I'm pretty strong. Why?" I ask moving around the burning logs with a long stick

"Yes but do you know just how strong you are?"

I look over at her again with a raised eyebrow telling her that I didn't know. Cassie inhales deeply "Adaline... you're strong enough to wipe out the entire supernatural race by yourself" She says with a serious face.

I scan her features seeing no glimpse of any other emotion besides seriousness. Before I am able to respond loud laughter and yells fill my ears.

Cassie and I both look up at the trees seeing David, Isaac and the guys, along with the girls all walking towards the fire.

"Hey guys!" Sienna grins taking a seat beside me. Cassie smiles saying hey back as she looks at everyone getting settled on their logs

"Hey baby" Isaac says kissing my temple sitting on the other side of me, he wraps a strong arm around my waist pulling our bodies closer together

Snow and Jaxon are sitting on a log by themselves all cuddled up whispering things to each other as Sienna and her mate are too busy feeding each other hot marshmallows.
