(A/N I changed Kuni's name to Hana. Sorry if it's not good. I'll go back and change it before I finish this chapter)

Hana and Maeko stood at each other's sides, as if standing in front of a hurricane. They shared a dark look, then morphed into human form. They both slowly turned around.

The village behind them had been silent, up until now. An old man stepped foreward, his blind eyes furious. "Why have you returned?! We banished you four years ago! Why now must you show your ignorant face here again?!"

Hana, who's face had been one of mystery, now flattened into rage. He eyes boiled. "He just saved your miserable life, and all you say is, why did you come back, we banished you, blah, blah, blah. Be more grateful!"

Maeko put a reassuring hand on Hana's shoulder, pushing her gently behind him. "Father. You know Hana is right. I just saved you and the village. Do you really want your home to die, just because you can't accept I'm not like you?" It was deathly quiet.

Maeko's father scowled, his eyes still sparking with hatred. "Do not call me your father. You are not my son. Your mother was the only one who loved you. Foolish woman. Now, she's dead because of you!" A tear fell from his face. "All because you were born different. She tryed to find you, but you'd covered your tracks expertly. She was abused by those devils, the Okamimimi. And now you've brought one here!" The rage returned full on to his eyes.

Maeko's eyes were wide. His mum, his beloved, sweet mum, was dead. The world spun around him and he fell to his knees. Hana crouched at his side, her eyes worrisome. "Mum... she is... dead?" he croaked, his voice sounding foreign.

His father sneered, his old face contorted in rage. "You didn't hear? You must've been too far away to hear her death screams. Our village heard and tryed to save her, but she died anyway. Her last word was not my name, or a prayer to our gods. It was yours. And ever since then, I've had warriors out searching for you. To find you. To kill you."

Hana looked up at Maeko's father. You are a monster. A cold hearted devil. You deserve to go to hell."

Suddenly, the rest of the village stepped foreward, past Maeko's father. They stood beside Hana and Maeko. Even young children stood there, faces solemn. Hana helped Maeko stand, where he leaned heavily on her shoulder, his eyes dull and full of pain.

Maeko's father looked incredulously at his people. "What are you doing?! Don't you see the traitor in him?! He is in love with our enemy!!" The village was silent. Slowly, they pressed foreward, pushing the old man towards the outskirts of the village.

"No. No, you can't do this. NO!"

The village surrounded him, chanting banish, banish, banish. The old man looked around, frightened, then hobbled away and disappeared into the forest.

Maeko watched his father disappear into the forest, not aware that he was on Hana's shoulder, or that his village was supporting him. As his father left, tears began to well in his eyes and he slid to the floor again. Hana and two villagers picked him up and carried him to the leaders hut, and laid him of the bed. It was there he fell asleep, in the arms of Hana, crying a river.
