When the pair of feet labeled 'Tom Riddle,' appeared right in front of us on the map, we looked up. Nothing was there. I glanced back down at the map. Sure enough, it said Tom Riddle was there but, we couldn't see him. We slowy and quietly backed away. The feet started going in the opposite direction as us.

"I didn't see him," Paige whispered on the way to the Gryffindor common room.

"Well, he was definately there," James said. We arrived at the common room and James whispered the password to it, and we went in.

We threw off the invisibility cloak and James pointed his wand at the Maurader's Map, "Mischief managed."

The ink disapeared on the map and went back to looking like a regular piece of parchment.

"Maybe we should tell your father about this," Scorpius says to James.

"No. We shouldn't. My dad had his time. Now, it's our time. Who's with me?" James says.

"Our time to get killed?" I muttered. I share glances with Paige and Scorpius. Then, we nod. This is a stupid thing to do, but what have we got to lose?

"What are you guys doing up?" Brody and Devin come out of he boys' dormitory.

"Uhh... we were up late doing homework," James says. He is a really bad liar. Fu sneaks up behind James, and snatches the cloak from his arm, revealing the invisible side.

"Wait, just a second," Brody says. He thinks for a minute. "Harry Potter's son... invisibility cloak... You guys weren't doing homework!"

"You would never believe what we saw! ...or didn't see... but----" Paige and I cut off Scorpius by putting our hands over his mouth.

"What did you see?" Devin asked. We told them what happened, and told them not to tell anybody. Their eyes were wide and mouths gaping.

"Why aren't you going to tell anybody about this? This is You-Know-Who we're talking about," Brody tells us.

"My father made it through without the bloody teachers. They didn't believe him when he said Voldemort came back to life. So why should they believe me?" James answered.

"What are we going to do about it?" Devin asks.

"We'll discuss that later. Let's get back to the dormitories before we get caught," I say.

It's hard for me to sleep the rest of the night. Why didn't we see Voldemort? Was he a ghost? Was he wearing an invisibility cloak? Or was he in a different form? Who knows.

The next day was quiet between the six of us. Whenever something similar to the topic of Voldemort came up, we'd instantly change the subject. The teachers were surprised at Devin's silence, because normally, he's goofing off, and talking the entire class. It was normal for Scorpius to be this quiet, Paige was quieter than usual, then I don't know about James and Brody because they're in different years, so I don't have classes with them. It was on the tip of my tongue to tell my mother about what happened, but I didn't.

During quidditch practice, I stared off into space, hovering on my broom, and the bludger flew past my head. It barely rushed past my ear, and my head whipped around to watch where it was going. Fred hit it with his bat, and it flew to his right.

"What's with you Markel?" Victoire called from across the field. I looked at James, he quickly shook his head.

"Uh, sorry, I just happened to zone out," I make a pathetic excuse.

"Don't let it happen again. We have a game on Friday and we need to practice," she says. I nod and focus back on our practice game.

Afterward, I walk back to the school with Paige and James.

"Whatever anyone asks you, what anyone does, do not speak of what we saw. We can handle it." James told us.

"Yeah, but how are we going to handle it?" I ask.

"Leave that to me. I'll come up with something," James said.

"Well, what are the rest of us to do?" Paige questions.

"Go to the library. Look up and see if you could find any information on coming back from the dead, or something that sounds like what Voldemort could've done," James replied.

"What about Devin, Scorpius, and Brody?"

"Get them to help, too." James tells Paige.

Paige and I put our quidditch gear away, then use our free time to our advantage. We couldn't find Scorpius, but we did find Brody and Devin. We entered the library, and made sure the librarian wasn't looking at what we were looking for. We gathered up a few books that might give us hints, but we didn't find anything that would help us a lot.

"Devin, you know that the whole point of this is to actually read the books, and not just quickly flipping through the pages," Brody says to him.

"I'm skimming for key words to what we're looking for. It's faster," Devin replies.

"Shut up! I think I found something," Paige says, with a giant book, propped open in front of her. We waited for her to tell us what it was, but she hesitated for a moment. She flipped the book around to face us, and pointed out the line.

"Old rituals of bringing one back to life can take place years after the specimen's death. They have to have someone from the living bring them back to life. The specimen will slowly  take form, starting out with no body at all, then to spirit form, and to solid form. Whether it's human, animal, etc., it can be brought back from death, from nothing at all." Paige read aloud.

"Do you know what this means?" Paige asked us. We just stared at her for an answer. She continued, "Someone had to have tried to bring Voldemort back to life. And they were most likely successful."

"But who, though?" I ask.

"We'll just have to keep an eye out," Paige answers.

"Top suspects: Riley and Joel Racleen!" Devin states.

"It's possible, but it might be someone outside of Hogwarts." Brody tells him.

"Like who?"

"Maybe those Death Eaters that were in the Forbidden Forrest not too long ago," I say. I exchanged glances with Paige. We were thinking the same thing. Devin must have known what we were about to say, because he protested instantly.

"We are not going in the Forbidden Forrest."

"Oh, yes we are. We are going to see if the Death Eaters have left the area or not," Paige tells him.

"But there's were wolves, and giants, and---" Devin was cut off by Scorpius running into the room. He tried catching his breath, and his face was paler than usual.

"You.... will...never believe... what I... found.." He took breaths between his sentence.

"What is it?" Brody asks.

Scorpius holds out a tattered old journal. The pages were yellowing, and the spine was falling apart. The middle seemed to had been pierced all the way through, to the back. The name on the top left corner on the cover, written on the cover:

Tom Riddle.

This was Tom Riddle's diary. The one that Harry Potter found, and stabbed a basilisk fang through. The same diary that Voldemort used as a horcrux.
