I woke up to the sounds of fighting. I was next to the two kids and they were trying to shake me awake. I pushed up into a sitting position and surveyed the scene.
Thalia and Annabeth trying to corner the Manticore, Grover trying to play on his pipes to grow vines to trap the monster, and the kids behind me.
It was as I sat up that I heard it: the sound of my family coming to save us.

----------------------------------------------

Everyone froze and I started to smile and laugh. The manticore and two kids looked at me like I was crazy.

The huntresses stepped out into the clearing analyzing the scene. Me laughing and everyone looking at me. Artemis gasped quietly. I suddenly stopped laughing and stared at the beautiful goddess.

"I think the poison is getting to me," I whispered softy. I couldn't believe after all this time that she was finally near me, only twenty feet away.
Artemis's face stopped looking at me with wonderment and turned into a look of determination as she looked at the scene once more. This time with cold eyes.

The manticore immediately started to charge the huntresses with a cry
Of rage. They pulled out out their bows  and each notched an arrow.
Before anyone could shoot Annabeth jumped on the manticore's back and pulled him away. He tried to shake her her off but it was no use, she held on tight.

I immediately stood up in front of the struggling monster and Annabeth so nobody would shoot.

"Stand down!" I said to the huntresses. They immediately put their bow down. Artemis turned toward her huntresses and looked surprised they even listened to a boy. I turned my attention to the manticore just as he jumped off the cliff.
"No!" I screamed and jumped off the cliff after them.

----------------------------------------------

It had been a long day. The huntresses and I had heard of a Manticore bothering a private school.
Our numbers were getting bigger and bigger, but we still could not find the hunters that my. . . .companion had looked over.

A millennia ago, he would look over the hunters and I would look over the huntresses.
Upset over his death, they left. Never to be seen again.
We looked for many years until Zeus, my father, said to stop looking for them, fearing for my sanity. I was so desperate to find them, the last piece of him.

I changed the Hunt after they left and made it into an all girls hunt, since I couldn't find them. We looked for at least a hundred years. It was never the same after they left.

The wolves don't talk anymore. They used to when he was here. They only speak when I've spoken to them directly. There were more wolves that were here but they were angry over his death, so they left and tried to join some rogue werewolf's but they were slaughtered for not being real werewolves.

I tell the new huntresses of the hunts past and how it used to contain males. Many of them were displeased but surprised anyone could win my heart. But over time they have wished to meet the man to have stolen my heart.
Anyone looking in on the hunt would see nothing wrong, that is was still the same after these years.......they were wrong. It was never the same.

After we sounded the horn, we made our appearance. The clearing contained a laughing boy, a brother and sister, two girls, a Saytr, and a manticore. All staring at the laughing boy.

The laughing boy was whom everyone was staring at, even the monster.

I looked closely at the boy and softly gasped. He looked just like—. No, I couldn't go there after a millennia without seeing him.
The boy stopped laughing and stared at me. Our eyes connected, silvery-yellow and sea green.
He whispered something, something I couldn't hear from here.
I knew I couldn't let anyone see him affect me so I looked towards the monster. It had started to charge us but before it could get to us, one of the girls jumped on its back.
My huntresses each put an arrow on their bow.
They couldn't shoot. The boy put himself between them and the monster and girl. As he did this I got a closer look and had to look away once more, it was too painful.
The boy commanded in a booming voice, "Stand down!"
And I looked surprised for they did, but I was even more surprised about his voice. I had only heard one voice who sounded that commanding.
I looked towards to get an even better look this time, but all I saw was his backside. He was running towards the cliff after the manticore.
He jumped off after the girl.

Everyone was quiet, holding their breath. Zeus' daughter looked
conflicted, distraught, and angry all at once. She went with anger.
She wiped her head around and stalked up to me.
"You have to save them!" She shouted

Even though I was curious about that laughing boy, I knew it wasn't possible. I would have to ask Poseidon to even think about going into the water to save her friends. Even though we were on relatively good terms, I didn't want to chance it. I am a daughter of Zeus.

"There is nothing I can do, I can't save them. I can't even sense them, Daughter of Zeus," I said. I gestured to Zoë to set up camp and started to turn away.

"You have to help them! They aren't supposed to die! Percy has a prophecy after him and Annabeth is too young!  You probably can't sense them because Percy can control his Aura!" She shouted again.

I turned back around and dryly chuckled. "Nobody has been able to control their Aura since. . . . since a millennia ago! And even if I could I wouldn't, for this was meant to happen and I can't interfere with demigod lives."

She crackled with rage and I could suddenly smell ozone in the air. Electricity was whipping off her body in tiny sparks.
"YES, YOU CAN INTERFERE! BECAUSE PERCY ISN'T EVEN A DEMIGOD! HE'S IMMORTAL AND YOUR HUSBAND, SO I KNOW YOU CAN AT LEAST SAVE HIM!"
She was breathing heavily as she finished shouting and I froze with her last sentence. She stopped breathing and paled drastically.

All the huntresses gasped and started to whisper among themselves. All excited about the maybe prospect of meeting their long lost leader. I didn't say anything. I couldn't feel anything, I was numb.
The saytr was looking at the daughter of Zeus like she was crazy for saying that it that she shouldn't have. She was still pale and I didn't say anything. Her fear was building up from me not saying anything.
I couldn't even speak I was so surprised. I was paralyzed in shock.
The other two demigods looked at us like we were crazy and where slowly backing away from us when they disappeared into a swirl of black smoke.
"So, what did I miss?" He said, appearing out of smoke, carrying the girl Annabeth. She was knocked out and had blood on her stomach. The source of which being his shoulder, that had a big gapping hole from the manticore.
He handed Zeus' daughter the girl, who still looked surprised at his appearance.
He then said, " Well, I know I have a lot of explaining to do, buuuut I'm going to pass out now.
His eyes shuttered closed, he went limp, and fell onto the grass with a loud thud.
We were all still looking at him with surprise and I thought I felt a little faint as I just realized who exactly this man was.

My long lost lover.
