Chapter 3
Case III:
Name: Daniel Carter
Age:16
Time of death: 5:00pm
Cause of death: suicide
Daniel Carter was a jock. Despite him being popular, he never bullied anyone. He never judged anyone either. That is how he came to be the boyfriend of Janice Hudson.
He always knew who she was but only really paid attention to her after her big change. He thought she was going through something big in life and wanted to be there for her. Or maybe he just wanted an excuse to get to know her.
Once they started dating he knew that they were made for each other. He didn't care that she only wore black, or that people would whisper things behind his back because he was dating her. No one really believed they would last, but they were wrong. She was the love of his life.
Daniel had a passion for soccer. He was the best soccer player the school had ever seen. He had a future of fame. In his future, other than marrying Janice, he was going to make it big in the soccer world.
So what happened?
Death. Mark's death had stirred up everyone. Especially Catalina. Everyone knew she was the cause of his death. But no one was as shaken up as Janice.
Something changed in Janice that made him fear for her. So when she asked of she could stay at his house he was more than happy to let her. He wanted to be there for her.
But Janice was different. He heard her crying every night. She stopped eating. She grew distant. He didn't know how to save her. But then she started getting better. She started eating a little bit more. She was making progress.
But then he got a call from her. She wanted to tell him something. But instead he found her hanging from his ceiling. On his bed he found a note from her. She revealed her secret.
Daniel soon fell into depression after that. His parents thought he would eventually grow out of it. But no one knew how much they loved each other. He couldn't bare the thought of her being dead. He tried to move on but couldn't. He couldn't look at another person without seeing Janice's face. Without her he was lost.
After a month of battling depression he decided he couldn't take any more.
That evening he popped some pills in his mouth and went to sleep. Forever.
