Chapter 8

The bell finally rung and Rena and I had just finished eating. We got up and walked to our lockers. Unfortunately our lockers weren't together. But since I was quick to get my things, I always walked to Rena's locker before class.

"So, do you wanna come over later?" I asked. My parents were out of town and my brother, Eric, was at some basketball thing.

"Sorry, I can't," she said. "My parent are forcing me to go to this charity dinner. All these old people are going to be there," she said pulling a face.

"Well, what time does it end?"

"At 10 o'clock. That's extending my parents bed time by one hour."

"Then come after. Ooooh! We can make it into a sleepover!" I was overly excited. "My parents are out of town, and Eric will be there," I tried wiggling my eye brows at her, knowing that she thinks my brother is hot. I'm not going to lie, he has grown a lot in 2 years, and let's just say that he doesn't look like a little 13 year old boy anymore. He even looks older than me!

"Woah, what are you doing?" Rena gave me a weird look.

"I'm wiggling my eyebrows at you," I said in my most innocent voice.

"Never. Do that again. You look like you had some sort of eye muscle spasm." I burst out laughing at the thought of that.

"Fine," I fake-pouted, "but only if you come over later."

"Fine," she fake groaned. "You are going to be the death of me!" she yelled before going our separate ways. While she had History, I had Chemistry.

I walked into class and went to my usual back seat. I mentally groaned as our chemistry teacher walked in. She has got to be the most excruciatingly boring person ever.

She droned on about something that made no sense to me. I could feel myself gettting tired. My eyes slowly drooped, listening to the soothing voices.

Sleep, Catalina. Sleep. Just listen to my voice and you shall succumb to the sweet bliss. Just let go. Slee-

BANG!

I jolted up, losing any tiredness that had taken over me. I looked up to see that the teacher had dropped a few books into my desk. There were a few sniggers around the class.

"Am I boring you, Cat?" the crazy woman's voice screeched in my ears.

Yes.

"No ma'am," I replied.

"Then pay attention!" She turned her back to me and continued with her lesson while I finally gave into the voices and fell asleep.
