The darkness finally faded into a dim glow from the morning sun. The room was cool like a prison cell in my perspective. The soft breaths coming from my room mate was the only sound to be heard other then the footsteps of the guards in the hallway. My head all of the sudden started pounding from the flood of memories coming in from the previous night. What a horrible night. I was now trying to quiet my sobbing to not wake the peacefully sleeping girl in the bottom bunk. I looked at the thick bracelets on my hands to control my powers. Then I slowly brush my fingers along the small headband that was trying to control the telepathic waves. It was too strong though. I looked over the metal brim of the bed frame to look at my inmate's wrists. They were slightly bruised from last night and her thin bracelets didn't help that matter much. I shook still when she moved herself on the stiff bed, thinking that I had woke her. It was  obvious she was having a nightmare. Oh gosh, I sure hope those bracelets hold back her powers. That was horrible the last time she had a nightmare like this. The electricity shot at random and almost hit her brother Newt trying to wake her.

As I roll onto my back staring at the ceiling, I consider taking off the gear and try communicating with my brother Thomas. Since the sun has fully went over the hills I would think he would be up already, much less sleeping at all last night. I slowly took off the head and arm gear trying not to wake the sleeping girl. I lay it in a neat pile on my pillow and tried getting a hold of Thomas. Hey are you there? Please answer me! I waited a few moments, nothing came. I waited for at least thirty minutes before I got a slight Thank God your alive back. Are you alright? Whose in your room with you? Where is everyone else? I started spamming him with questions now that he's gotten my message.

Hold on sis! One at a time. He thought back with a happy tone. I'm sharing a room with Newt and were fine I guess. Newt is still sleeping like a baby in the bottom bunk. I'm alright though for the moment I guess. Newt. Thank God he's alive. I thought to myself. Oh gosh I miss him. I know he's  not my boyfriend or anything but Lyndsay's the only one that knows how much I like him. She's always telling me how he always looks at me and will never stop talking about me when its just her and her brother. Their both British so their the slightly odd ones out but other than that they are just like us. It took a while before I got used to the accent but then I fell in love with it. I came up about a few months after Lyndsay came up in the box. She told me how she was horrified of everything and everyone and wouldn't talk to anyone but her brother. They were the only ones that remembered each other just like me and my brother Thomas. Hey are you still there? Thomas said extremely worried. Sorry I just zoned out in my thoughts again I said guiltily from making Thomas worried.  Its ok. Is Lyndsay alright?  He asked in a sudden mood change. It was stern, protective but loving at the same time. Yea, she's fine. She's a little bruised up from last night but she's sleeping right now. I said slightly jealous of the fact that they both had a massive crush on each other but to scared to tell each other how they felt.

Gosh I miss her. He said not meaning for me to hear. I wish I could've been there for her last night. Hold her close in my arms and slightly rock her back and forth. Kissing her slightly on the head. Then she looks up at me with her hazel eyes and I lean in to kiss her. I guess he completely forgot about the fact that I have telepathic powers and that I can hear every word he's saying. UGH! Stop putting gross images of you and Lyndsay kissing in my head! You forgot I could read your thoughts and see the images you have envisioned! I snapped extremely annoyed at this point. I wish Newt would think this stuff about me all the time. Stop being so jealous of your best friend Riley! She's helped you get through everything in the maze, you could at least support the fact that she's crushing on your brother. I thought to myself.

As I hear the workers slowly come back up the hall to a complete stop at our door, I quickly put my gear back on. I slam myself into a sleeping position and act like I'm sleeping. The door swung open and two guards came in the room. They yanked us both out of the bed with Lyndsay wide awake in attack mode. She started electrocuting the guards without meaning too. No gear can hold back the force of electricity she contains when her adrenalin starts pumping. With one guard unconscious from the amount of electricity applied to him the other ran out of the room. "What the bloody hell was that!?" She said with a horrified expression.

"I don't really know. Are you alright?"

"Yea I'm fine. Are you alright Riley. You look like you haven't gotten any sleep."

"Yea, mostly tossing and turning but other than that I was just staring at the ceiling."

"You look like you got chased by the bloody grievers."

"Wow, thanks for the complement."

"No problem" She said all to happily. "I thought I was having a nightmare but I now know that the whole thing was real." With a sudden depressed mood change.

Another pair of security guards came a bit more gently than before and escorted us into a brightly lighted room where they chained us to a table with a bunch of odd electronics that seemed to beep whenever I took a breath in. I took a quick look at Lyndsay beside me when a man came up behind her with a nightstick and nocked her out cold. I started screaming bloody murder as he made his way toward me. I was cussing at him with everything I could until the world went black.
