I dress early on a Monday morning, wearing an oversized knit grey, tan and blue zig zag sweater and dark dress pants. I braid my hair into a French braid and pack up all of my stuff into my shoulder bag, including some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies per requested by Liam and Niall. I have become the unofficial craft service when it comes to deserts and sweets. I have people come up to me all the time and request certain types of cake or cookies they think I should make.

Today we’re doing a promotional photoshoot for the boys new tour. It’s going to be printed as an advert in magazines. Not that the boys really need any promotion, their tour sold out months ago.

After taking a fairly short bus ride I am able to locate the studio that the photoshoot is taking place in and getting inside is no problem. This job has given me really good directional skills and I’m pretty good at finding locations now. I certainly know London much better.

Lou greets me warmly upon arrival, “Hey Evan!” She says giving me a quick wink as she sets up, “How’s my favorite assistant doing?”

“I’m your only assistant Lou!” I say rolling my eyes slightly as I begin unpacking some of the makeup.

“Don’t be so literal!” She says laughing, “But anyways, how are you?”

“Fine,” I shrug. And it’s true I am just fine. But fine is good for me. Fine is average, and average is good enough for me, “How are you?”

“Great,” She grins happily.

“Any reason why?” I wonder curiously.

“Nope,” she shrugs and I nod in understanding. Lou is just the type of person that will feel great for no real reason at all. A few minutes later she tells me, “Tom and Lux are coming with us for the first leg of the tour!”

“Oh that will be lovely,” I tell Lou honestly.

“We weren’t sure if it’d work because of all of Tom’s band stuff but I think I’d miss them too much if I didn’t get to see them!” Lou gushes to me and goes on to tell me about a funny story about Lux to which I only half listen.

The boys arrive about fifteen minutes afterwards but are immediately shuttled off to wardrobe to get dressed for the photoshoot. All of them look exhausted. They were probably at a party the night before. That means a little extra makeup work for Lou and I. It’s interesting that we have to do makeup for them at all though because nowadays if they don’t like something in a picture, they can just fix it in editing.

Liam, Niall and Louis are the first ones into the room, all of them dressed in their photoshoot clothes. They make their way around the room saying “Hello” and “Thank you” to the whole team.

“Hey Evan,” Liam says cheerily but then yawns loudly afterwards.

I cross my arms over my chest trying to look stern, “Were you up late partying?” I say raising an eyebrow.

Liam bites his lip looking very guilty, “Maybe…” He trails off and then laughs a little bit, “We’ve been working so hard, we needed a bit of a laugh.”

I nod, loosing the tough act I dig through my bag pulling out the cookies, “I brought the cookies,” I tell him passing him the plastic tupperware.

Liam’s eyes light up, “Oh sweet!” He says taking the tupperware and holding it up in the air, “Niall! She brought the goods!” He calls to Niall who immediately stops what he’s doing and hurries over to get in on the action.

Liam pops open the lid and hands it to Niall who takes a cookie, right before he takes a bite I interrupt them, “Promise me you’ll be careful!” I tell them, “Caroline will kill me if you get any chocolate or crumbs on your outfit again!” They nod and both thank me for the cookies multiple times before going off to say hello to someone else.
