Getting set up doesn’t take very long and then we have awhile before the show starts.

The guys still need to go through warms ups and then soundcheck before they come to hair and makeup and then they’ll have to do a bunch of pre-show interviews before going through wardrobe. Then Lou and I will do touchups for hair and makeup and then finally the show will begin.

Lou and I wait together, talking casually and listening to Lou’s iPod. People run in and out of the room asking us how we’re doing and if they can get us anything to eat or drink, but really we don’t need that much.

I really am glad to have met Lou, I couldn’t ask for a better boss. I think I actually consider her to be more of a friend now, or a really cool older sister or something like that.

“Thanks for hiring me Lou,” I say randomly, looking over at her “This has honestly been the most interesting few months of my life.”

She smiles widely, “Aw sweetie!” She says with affection in her voice, “I’m so glad I found you! I was so scared that they were going to give me some stuck up girl right out of beauty school who thought she knew everything and would be all over the guys of One Direction-”

I interrupt her, “But instead you got me. Someone with no makeup experience and very little prior knowledge about the male species.”

She laughs and shakes her head, “You’re perfect,” She tells me sitting up a little straighter and I feel my cheeks go slightly red at this statement.

“Hey Evan, do you think you could do me a favor?” She asks after a moment.

I nod, “Yeah sure what is it?”

She looks around the room before saying, “I think I left my book and diaper bag in the bus, do you think you could go get it for me?”

“Of course, what are assistants for?” I ask rhetorically, standing up and stiffly stretching my arms. I’ve been sitting down for so long now, it’ll be nice to walk around for a few minutes.

“Thanks so much, I need to go find Lux and Tom and bring them back here. I have a feeling that, as usual, Tom got lost and has been wandering around this place for the last half and hour. He’s not picking up his phone and he never asks for directions either.” She says shaking her head, but smiling a little as she says this, “Paul texted me a few minutes ago and said that the boys just started soundcheck so we’ll have a little bit of time before they come here for the first round of makeup,” she tells me as she stands, phone in hand, getting ready to find Tom and Lux.

I debate for a moment wether or not I should bring my bag but ultimately decide to leave it. It’ll only take a few minutes to get from here to the bus, “Okay, I’ll see you in a few minutes then,” I tell her as I begin walking through the door.

“Thank you so much Evan!” Lou yells after me, “The buses are parked to the far left, the opposite direction of where we came in,” She tells me right before I walk out the door. It’s not quite as busy as before, but still crowded. Mainly now it’s just reporters and journalists waiting to do pre show interviews.

I make my way out the door and as I expected a lot of people scream. However when they realize that I’m not Harry, Louis, Liam, Niall or Zayn then let out noises of disappointment. The masses have grown and all I can see is girls in shorts and colorful banners. I walk quickly, ignoring the yelling which I can barely make out. I hear my name a few times but other than that it’s all muffled by girls screaming over each other.

I reach the bus after a five minute walk and find Rupert having coffee with the other bus drivers near by. The buses are parked in a more inclosed area so it’s a lot quieter and more peaceful over here although you can still hear the deafening screams nearby.
