---------

I woke up very cold. I burrowed deeper into the familiar sheets and pulled my bare legs in closer. I always kept a pair of pajama shorts and an oversized t-shirt at Christian's. It was definitely time to bring sweatpants instead. I rolled over and stretched out my shoulder that I'd slept on.

"Good morning," Christian said in a gravely morning voice.

"Hi," I stretched and sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. Christian was already sitting up and looked wide awake. He had his laptop on his legs and had already assumed the Tumblr Position. "Starting the day early, I see." Christian nodded. I moved over so I could be closer to Christian and his warmth. "Could you-" I paused to yawn, "Hand me my laptop?"

"Sure," Christian reached down the side of the bed and handed me my laptop. Together we sat in bed scrolling through Tumblr and showing each other the weird or cool things we found on our dashboards. I tried to find the funniest things I could (which wasn't hard); Christian's laughter and smiles was all I needed to be in the perfect mood.

I scrolled through a long series of GIFS. Danisnotonfire GIFS to be exact. What? I'm not going to deny the YouTube fangirl within me exists. It took me almost a month to get over the face that I was dating The Christian Novelli.

My laptop grew hot, melting away the goose bumps on my legs. "Remind me to bring some sweatpants. It's way too cold for shorts."

"I will try. But you know I don't have any better of a memory than you."

"No it doesn't work like that," I joked, "One of us has to have a good memory to remember things."

"But I fail at most things, and remembering things is in the 'Most' category. Like I barely remember to post videos on my channel." Christian paused, "Oh that's what I was going to do today!" He laughed loudly and went to Twitter. He typed quickly. I stopped scrolling through freaky GIFS of Dan and tried to read the Tweet. I couldn't read it at this angle so I logged onto Twitter. I watched him hit 'tweet'. I refreshed the page.

"Hmm, let's see what Christian said this morning..." I looked at the tweet Why are people so afraid of lions? They are just cats with great hair. "Inspirational." I said.

"Thanks." I giggled closed my laptop, leaning against Christian and watching him check all his social networking sites. I watched him go back to Tumblr. He took my arm and began gently running his thumb over the thickest of the scars close to my hand. I moved in a little closer, loving the silence and how light Christian's touch was.

"I know what we should do today," Christian said at last. "We should go to the aquarium. It's cold enough that no one will be there probably. Then we can have a private party with the fish."

-------

So there we were, parking our car in the lot under the overpass. The Seattle Aquarium sat on the very edge of the bay; it jutted out onto the water quite a bit. A nicely designed concrete park sat in front of the aquarium and connected with the path down the waterfront. The Seattle Great Wheel sat still on it's pier. A flood of memories of riding it in the summer and discovering Christian's fear of heights flashed in my head as we got out of the car.

There was no sun today so the water was as gray as the cloudy sky. No wind rustled the bare branches of the street trees planted into the sidewalk. Christian fixed his beanie and his hair then came around the car to were I stood on the side walk. He slipped his hand into mine and we set off across the crosswalk to the pale blue building.

The lobby was warm and very empty. A few families milled about, finding their way to where the exhibits start. Christian and I walked up the counter. "Two adults, please." I said the young woman behind the desk.

"Alright. $43.90 is your total." Christian stepped up with his wallet. He fumbled around a bit with it, struggling to get his card out. He dropped his wallet, muttering "oh gosh." He picked it up and hurriedly pushed his card across the desk. I nudge his arm and gave him a reassuring smile. I could tell he was already internally freaking out about it. His face twisted a bit into a smile then it dropped and he stared down at his tattered TOMS. I glanced down and noticed his *wearing socks with his shoes and he had pulled them up over the ankles of his jeans. I smiled and took the tickets from the lady. Then we walked towards the door.

"You did fine," I whispered to Christian. He had his hand that wasn't occupied with mine covering his face. I squeezed his hand and led him to the exhibits. "It doesn't matter. The woman didn't care."

"I'm just so awkward!" He said in a hushed voice. It felt a little weird to talk normally when most of the patrons were being quiet too.

"So what? I'm not judging you. Neither was she. With how slow everything is today, I'm sure she was just happy to see some people." I stretched up a bit to kiss his cheek. "Come on, let's go have a party with the fish."

--------

After walking through a water filled arch with lights that turned the clear jellyfish to different colors, we found ourselves in a cave like room full of fish tanks. We walked through, peering in at the bright, tropical fish.

"Clown fish aren't even funny." Christian blurted.

"Don't be mean! The clown fish have feelings!" I cleared my throat and bent down a little to look into the tank. "Hello Mr. Clown Fish, my friend here doesn't think you are very funny. Do you mind telling us a joke?" I could here Christian giggle behind me. The orange and white striped fish just stared for a second before darting off.

"See? What I tell yah? Not funny." I nodded with a smile, taking Christian's hand again. "They have no sense of humor. But if the fish was out of water, I'd definitely say they had a dry sense of humor."

"Oh god," I face palmed, dropping his hand and walking away.

"Come on, it wasn't that bad was it?" I groaned then laughed. "Okay, that was pretty bad."

"As bad as Mr. Clownfish's  joke."

--------

Over the course of the hour, we traveled our way through the aquarium. We looked at all the weird sea creatures, fish, the seals. We walked up a ramp, our fingers intertwined and looked through the thick glass at my favorite exhibit: the otters.

I mean, seriously, they are like dog mermaids except they don't look like dogs. Or mermaids. But you get the point.

Christian got the point too. He knew my love for of these "dog mermaids" so he made sure we found them before we left. I peered through the glass, watching the sleek creatures push through the water and swim loops around each other.

"I have an otter fact for you."

"Oh really? Are you the sea creature expert now?" I asked, watching the otters glide past.

"Well of course! Hudson and I are home dogs so I know everything." I laughed. "Alright. Time for the fact. Okay. So..." Christian turned to face me, taking my other hand in his. He held them tightly and brought his eyes up from his feet. "Otters hold hands when they sleep, so they don't float away and lose each other."

*i do this a lot lol! Inspired by Christian's great sense of style. its really cozy and looks cute when you have colorful socks :P

So this chapter is a lot shorter. Sorry lol. This fanfiction is actually going to be pretty short compared to some that I have read. This update took a lot longer than I expected. I had a huge project due and stuffs. But I'll write more today.
