So I was rereading my fanfiction and realized the transition from chapter 6 to 7 was awful. So sorry about that. This chapter will clear it all up. Hopefully.

Enjoy :) -E

"Why? Do we have to?" Christian whined, being unresponsive as I tossed his a pair of socks. "I want to go back to bed."

"Not an option. If I let you go back to bed, you will stay there for days. Your friend, Jason said he even got rid of his bed all together so he would have to get up and do things. You can't sit around and be sad forever. Besides," I reached up and fixed Christian's bangs, pulling a beanie over his hair. "It's nearly Christmas. All I want is for you to be happy."

It took some work, but I finally got Christian dressed, fed and out to his car. I started the ignition and drove up and out of the underground parking lot. I turned and began to drive us out of the city. Christian turned on the radio where Hey Now by *London Grammar was playing. He went back to leaning his head on the window.

The sky was a thick blanket of gray clouds that seemed to have gotten darker. We crested another tall hill when my phone rang. Keeping one hand on the wheel and my eyes on the road, I reached to the cup holder where my phone was chirping. I pressed talk and held it up to my ear.

"Rosie?! Is that you?!" My mom said quickly.

"You're the one who called me," I said flatly.

"Where are you? Grandma said you stormed out. You worried both of us sick! Come home now."

"I'm not coming home until that witch apologizes or leaves. She can pick. Happy holidays." I hung up and tossed my phone into the cup holder again. I cursed under my breath and took hold of the steering wheel with two hands.

"What was that?" Christian asked, speaking for the first time since we got in the car.

"Nothing."

"What happened? Clearly you're mad about something." I saw him look at me with his sad eyes.

"No, I'm not mad. I'm just really done. I'm sick of everything." The car in front of us stopped quickly. I slammed on the brake. Christian grabbed at the handle above the door and threw his arm in front of me to keep me from flying forward. The car lurched to a stop. "Sorry! Are you okay?"

Christian dropped his arms and went back to leaning against the door. "Yeah, but I'm pretty sure I just had a heart attack."

"Me too. Sorry," I said again, leaning back into the seat while I waited for the light to turn green. As sudden as our near accident, the sky broke open. Instead of the usual rain, little white flakes danced down and landed on the windshield.  I looked to Christian who had closed his eyes. I poked his arm, "Look." Christian sat up peered out the windows at the small flakes that fell. He fell back again without saying another word, wiping at his eyes.

We pulled into the parking lot of the nature reserve awhile later. The snow was still falling slowly but was only sticking to plants. We pulled on our jackets and gloves and got out of the car. I put my phone and keys in Christian's backpack. We began walking down the trail through the woods. Most of the first snow didn't make it past the evergreen canopy but the flakes that did swirled in the breeze.

After a few minutes, I spoke up. "This is better than staying in bed all day, isn't it?" Christian shrugged, watching his feet as he walked. I elbowed him gently with my hands in my coat pockets. "Come on, walking in the woods as it snows? I thought that there would no where else you'd rather be."
