Hiii I'm back! I'm going to put little star symbols like this * to add notes in my bottom author note thingy because I hate interrupting the story! Also I may of changed things like who Christian lives with and stuff like that but who cares? I mean come on, it's fanfiction. This chapter is a bit more about our main character Rosie but it's crucial to the plot. But please leave feedback! It makes me happy c:

"Do you have to go?" Christian asked, disappointment in his voice.

"Yeah," I sighed. "My mom said she wants me home for dinner." Christian nodded and loosened his grip on my waist. We'd been lying in his bed talking for a while. Just talking about random things like the best parts of Christmas and wondering if we could brave the very crowded and busy market sometime. We even tried to write haiku's on the spot; which led to lot's of laughter. This summed up our relationship quite well.

I pulled out of Christian's lanky arms and pushed the covers back. It was a lot colder when I left the comfort of the blankets and Christian's warm body. Christian reluctantly followed me into the hallway. I put on my shoes and reached for my jacket. He fixed his sweater and then re-positioned the bits of dyed black hair on his cheekbones, his little nervous habit that I loved.

"I'll be back tomorrow. Then we can decorate the place. Okay?"

"Alright. Bye." I smiled at Christian as I left. Once on the street, I put in my ear buds and turned up the volume until the Seattle based alternative/indie band, *Deep Sea Diver,  was the only thing I could hear. It was Christian and my favorite band and was basically the soundtrack to our lives since we met. The bus was very crowded when I climbed on. At 6 o'clock, everyone was hopping aboard public transportation to get home in time for dinner. I sat down next a middle aged woman and tried to show that I was not in the mood to talk.

I mean, sitting next to strangers who actually want to talk to you? Ick.

6 blocks and 1 stop later, I climbed off the bus and walked another 2 blocks to my building. I was frozen by the time I got into the lobby. December was really having fun this winter, tormenting us north westerners with this extra shock of cold.

"I'm home!" I yelled into the apartment, unwrapping my scarf. Footsteps came down the hallway that smelled like cinnamon candles and lasagna; a truly gross mix. Not to mention lasagna is one of my least favorite foods.

"Rosie! Look who is here! Surprise!" I looked up and saw my very wealthy grandmother playing with the glitzy ring on her finger, catching the hall light, standing next to my very humble, single mother.

"Rosanna," the woman exclaimed, hugging me to her perfume heavy sweater. Her chunky orange necklace pressed hard into my chest. I guess you could say I was a bit uncomfortable. "How are you darling? You looks so grown up now!"

"Fine, how are you?"

"I'm grea-" She gasped and took my hands. "Jesus! What happened to your fingernails!?" I stared down at my uneven nails and peeling cuticles. A nasty nervous habit, butchering my nails with my teeth. "We have to get you a manicure as soon as possible! At least I know what to get you for Christmas. We have to get those fixed. They make you look so scraggly." My grandmother turned and walked back to the dining room. My mother followed her like a puppy, not even giving me a sorry glance.

I sighed in annoyance and hurried to my room. I changed out of my stiff, cold jeans and put comfy sweat pants. I opened my nightstand and searched for my nail filer.

"Why didn't you tell me she was coming?" I hissed into my mother's ear while she tossed the salad.
