The tacky blood stuck to Welder's sole as he looked out at the ship-filled field of stars. He had led the attack into the now late King Theodore's own halls, and it was his own hand that pulled the trigger and ended his reign. Welder's rule now spanned two solar systems, as Theodore's clones were slaughtered in their vats.
He closed his eyes and awaited the rush that comes with achieving a goal, long fought for with years and lives. He searched himself, yet felt nothing.
He'd taken a whole solar system. How the hell was he going to keep it?
